How do you clean your grow room air?

G'day all!
I have had a bit of a look around, but can't really find what I am after.
This is my problem, as you can see, the stitch holes on my tent are allowing the smell out. That lovely pungant smell come flower time seeps out and overtakes your room(s).
So I am wondering how you guys go about getting rid of your grow smells.
I need to rid the smell, flower stage has been employed for about a week now and I just know people 25 kilometers away will smell it.
I've heard citrus cuts, sprays, onions, sodium bicarbonate works. I think a carbon filter is pretty much useless with my situation as the smell will still come out of the stitching holes as well as the filter.

Even with those little holes in the stitching, you should be good as long as you have negative pressure in your tent. You need to make sure your exhaust fan is stronger than any intake you have.

I have the same holes on and around my zipper, but my exhaust fan is strong enough that it still sucks the walls of the tent in a little bit. That is what you want. Then no air escapes, and it all goes through the carbon filter.

So I run a 4" by 12" phresh filter, 180 CFM fan and a duct muffler. You would be amazed at how well the combination works and the muffler keeps the exhaust noise in check. So when air is pulled out of your tent, the seams are more intake then exhaust. Will definitely take care of your odor problem.

Hi there , to be honest , every tent that I have come anywhere near, pretty much , I could smell all around the inside off house and or my friend’s apartment . My mate lazy is doing this , now he is becoming paranoid.

Many growers over look this aspect when they set up. Odor is one of the #1 things that attract unwanted attention to your house/apartment. They just busted a bunch of people here in Colorado yesterday for illegal grows.

I'm in Australia, my closest neighbor would be at least 300metres away. But I have nosey parents, and I don't want to break their hearts!
And we have guests over, who need know nothing.
My tent is a 60cmx60cmx60cm tent
The intake usb 12cm pc fan. Dead silent, it's so good! Do not currently have an exhaust yet, but I do have a spare 10cm pc fan, which is a lot more powerful. I like and understand the theory about having a more powerful outtake fan, but fear the size required might make it too loud?

you can grow aromatic plants in and around your house. rosemary, gardenias, clematis, lavender, and jasmine all have strong but pleasant odors that help mask the smell.
you don't want ona gel anywhere close to your plants, but a bucket outside the door of your grow room couldn't hurt.

many people will cut two holes in a box, put their fan in it with the ducting running in and out of the holes, then pack the box with old clothes, foam rubber, or even expanding foam. cuts the noise down a lot.

It makes sense what you are saying , but it get’s out simple as that.

Ok, maybe for you... I can't really argue a whole lot with you as I am pretty new to all this. All I know is I have tested my tent and filter. I smoked in it before I grew and my wife outside the tent could not smell a thing. I know it's not exactly the same, but it's something. I was impressed.

But I guess time will tell. I am not flowering yet but so far nothing smells outside the tent even though their scent is already pretty strong. Guess I will find out...

I watched a video on that the other day. It was built similar to a "sterio subwoofer enclosure". Impressive results!

If you don’t mind me saying , you could seal the door of the room that the tent is in . as you pull it closed , it squeezes the stick on like draught excluders inside the frame work .

Match your fan to your space if you havent. Give yourself enough CFM that youre cycling all the air in the room every 1-2 minutes and make sure you match your filter to your fans CFM.

If you have enough negative pressure in your tent it doesnt. Its literally not possible because the negative pressure inside the tent will be sucking air into those holes too. You create a vacuum inside your space that wont let anything out unless its being sucked through your filter.

If you have a smell issue, you dont have enough air being pulled through your filter, your filter is not big enough, or your filters CFM rating is too low and its not filtering your air well enough.

idk if you ever cleaned with 99% iso but it has a very strong odor. Wiping down a few things in my basement with it will stink up the entire house really quickly. When I set my tent up, I sprayed the entire inside down with it. I cleaned it all with a brand new sponge mop and alcohol. Without my exhaust on the fumes could have killed me in that small space, but you could not smell the alcohol at all outside the tent and the exhaust was strong enough to extract the fumes so well I could barely smell it even inside the tent.

I use a 5ft tall can 125 filter and an 800cfm fan for my 10x10 and it gets the job done very well.

Using insulated ducting and putting your fan in the middle of several feet of ducting works just as well as any muffler.
My filter stand in a corner outside my tent with my fan on top of it sucking air out of the tent and blowing it directly into the filter. I have around 10" of insulated ducting on the intake side going into my tent.
With just the fan running at full speed down there, you can hear it across the whole house. With it on the filter and with ducting on it, its as quiet as a small desk fan even standing right next to it.

Oh, one thing I forgot to add is air leaks in your room.
Stuff like thread holes and other ports meant to be there won't leak bad enough to matter as long as theyre all tied up and closed like they should be, but if you have big gaps in your walls or rips in your tent you could possibly still get some leaks if youre keeping a relatively low negative pressure.
Go in the room with the lights off and look for light leaks, anywhere you have large light leaks will also be air leaks.
I have a window zipper on my tent I wasnt happy with so I just covered it in some foil tape.

Where do you duct your air to? Outside? What if I'm fine with the odor inside the building but not so much outside?

Either way you should control the odor. If it’s inside of the building it will leak out somewhere. If it starts to leak out and your in a state that’s illegal then you’ll get busted. If you are in a legal state and you live close to someone it’s generally a good idea just so you don’t piss them off.

Right on I guess what I'm trying to say is if I'm venting it outdoors even through a scrubber I'd think it would still smell outdoors and not in the house but if I vent else where inside with a can filter then maybe ozone the area I'm venting to it might help I've never used odor control before in about 3 years growing but I'm setting up new rooms and really want to figure odor control out.

I am trying to do as much research as possible seems like negative pressure through carbon filter works best wondering how I'm gonna do this as Im trying not to cut holes into walls this time I also wonder how well airconditioning will work if I'm suckling air out of my room so rapidly
