how do to start practing lst?

i was wondering what to do to start practicing lst?

please give me tips this is my first grow and i heard that it was a way to stunt the growth of my plant

I'm not convinced it helps... I LSD'd the tip (trying to do a circle), letting the bottom branches grow straight up, and they're now bigger... I think lst is just stressing it out. It might make more sense to just tie the branches down. whats the consensus?
