How do I verify a Caregiver in Washington?

Hey,

So I had a caregiver come to me for the first time by email, and he was requesting that I help his mom out as he is her legal mmj caregiver. my question is what do I do to do to provide safe access to them while not putting myself in a bad spot legally. I am just wondering how you go about verifiying a patients caregiver?

thanks

if you are a mmj card holder... you can ask anyone over 18 to be your caregiver just as long as they dont have another patient

CAREGIVERS: Washington's medical marijuana law allows for the designation of a person to serve as the qualified Patient's provider or Caregiver to assist with their use of medical marijuana.

The Caregiver must be at least 18 years old and is prohibited from consuming the marijuana obtained for the personal medical use of the Patient for whom the individual is acting as designated Caregiver.

Also, the person can be the Primary Caregiver for only one (1) qualified patient at a time.

See Wash. Rev. Code §§69.51A.010, 69.51A.040 (2007).

[h=3]Stone, try to check your info before giving out VERY VERY wrong info.......... You may be a caregiver to only ONE patient, as a caregiver you could grow up to 30 plants at any given time ( don't know why you would need that many plants for 2 people)

69.51A.010
Definitions.[/h]The definitions in this section apply throughout this chapter unless the context clearly requires otherwise.

(1) "Designated provider" means a person who:

(a) Is eighteen years of age or older;

(2) "Health care professional," for purposes of this chapter only, means a physician licensed under chapter

Collective gardens.... you need everyone invloved to be mj patients/card holders...they combine their cards...

3 person min...10 max...45 plant total max

atleast 3 co-op members mj authentication papers must be at the grow.... be current and visible (we frame ours)

Caretaker.... can be anyone over 18... you dont have to be a mj patient/card holder to be a caretaker :)

Lerellion...
You could have at least said to stone that you're sorry for taking up that kind of tone, now that everyone can see that you are in fact wrong!

And we should probably just link to the collective garden information so people can read it for themselves, because there is a lot more information to know that what has been shown here...for instance, if you are the caretaker of a garden for other people, they are not allowed to buy it from you. They can do things like..work on your garden and you compensate them with weed for their work.

Thanks for posting what you did ColNuggs!
