I took some digital photos of my grow but I want to scrub the images before I post them here (to ask for advice), just to make sure there's no incriminating data. How do I do that?

I took them with a Fujifilm FinePix S700.

thanks guys :eyesmoke:

n if your jus tat paranoid, right click on your pic, it should have an EDIT somewhere in there. if not open the pic, go to file, go to save as, under file type choose bitmap. you can figure it out from there once you open the bitmap image

Lol I don't think you guys know what I mean. Some digital cameras (I know Iphones do this) contain geographical info embedded in the file. That's what I want to get rid of.

Yea we all know what you're talking about. Same with videos. It can tell you where they were recorded/made w.e. But all we're saying or thinking reading this are what are the odds of someone pickin up a pic? Or do what everyone else seems to have and make your signature say you're lying and everything came off google lol. I highly doubt you have anything to worry about. Maybe if you upload it to photobucket, then edit it, and resave it, then upload? Then its not an image from your camera. but no idea to be honest. If someone went through all that trouble to bust you I would imagine you are already busted..... if that makes sense.

It's called EXIF data in your JPG.

Google REMOVE EXIF from JPG and you'll get a lot of different ways to doing that. I posted an EXIF remover on a prior post, but I don't have time to track it down.

OK help me understand this, when you say Some digital cameras (I know Iphones do this) contain geographical info embedded in the file.

So when did cameras with built in GPS start selling? I am not talking about anything with a phone attached just a camera. No possible way a camera picture file can contain any geographical info as to your location let alone city, state or country. You did not use a cell phone to take the pics so post away.

I would be more worried they track your ip address back to your internet provider and kick your door in.

Peace
