How do I avoid overfeeding

Whats the rule of thumb for fertilizer? How does one know how much fertilizer to add a week? From germination, to vegative, to flowering state.

I've been watching many a video on youtube and it has been said time and time again that torching the soil is the novice's most common mistake. I want to avoid this and what must I know?

I would check out other peoples grow journals - find a similar set-up and a grow you like and ask any questions that aren't answered in the journal.

I'm suggesting this cause your feeding schedule depends on too many variables to make any more than just general recommendations.
