How do I air seal doors on a grow cab?

Im thinking about a grow cab 8X8X8 and I want to know how to best seal the doors to prevent co2 loss.

Is weather stripping the best option? I noticed when I did this the first time around I had issues with the weather stripping comming off around the side where the hinges due to clearance issues, if I remember correctly(its been a few years).

Besides the door area, is calking and tape the best way to seal the other areas of the room?

You could shim your hinges out to accomodate for the weather stripping?I use that expandable foam stuff to seal as well.

you could adject the hidges to add a little area between the door and cab when closed and just enough to put the foam or weather strips for it to be sealed.

co2 is dirt cheap. 30 bucks flower 3 times. dont waste time trying to completly seal room because temps and humidity may get crazy. run fans leave vents open and crank up co2 regulator. again co2 is dirt cheap ur better wasting a bit then stressing ur plants

Yes, don't put weather-stripping without shimming. The light leaks from the outside edges of my cab will explain themselves lol. Put the weatherstripping on first and you'll be able to tell how much to shim.

A hinge will naturally mount the door flush against the frame. When you add weatherstripping, the door will be 1/8-1/2" from the frame. The hinges must also be moved this far forward to keep the door straight, otherwise it ends up at an angle. I don't know how to explain better without pics lol.

Ok to shim means to space the hinge away from the wall or door sealing surfae creating a gap just big enough for your sealant material in this case weatherstripping to fit.Hope this helps.If your weatherstripping is 1/8ths thick you will space the hinge 1/8th or so away from the wall.I cant explain it any better i dont think.

You can use closed cell foam weather stripping and trim it down with a sharp razor where there are clearance issues, such as at the hinges.

i used that.. didnt do anything with my hinges.. i used one of them magnet things to keep the door closed from lowes. it shuts nice and tight and no light shows through if done right. i got mine running along the hinges on the screws thats screwed into the base of the cab not the door.
