well your profile picture is not the same as your avatar. load a picture in the avatar section. it should pop up.

And where, pray tell, might I find the 'avatar' section? I am clicking on my profile, I have my picture all cropped (a crop of the crop).

Nevermind, found the sections for avatar and profile pic under 'my rollity' up top.
