How close to harvest can I use pyrethren based sprays?

Title says it all.

Got some Thrips wrecking havoc. Been knocking them down the best I can with Fox Farm's "Don't Bug Me" product. Planning harvest in 10 days. Should I stop now? Or can I get a little closer to actual harvest time? Does this stuff degrade quickly?

I started using this in my grow area between grows to be proactive.....eventually I got a white fly issue and sprayed some on the lower half's of some large plants in a tent and noticed some rusty spots appeared soon thereafter. I paid it no mind with all the bud activity up top. Thought maybe I went too hot with the nutes. Last week I had some sprouts ~3" high and ~3" across and noticed half a dozen white flies under the leaves of each one. I shook the bottle....sprayed some outside the house for a while to clear the nozzle then shot a few squirts on each plant before the dark period. The next morning I noticed some milky spots on the leaves and thought it was a good sign...the bugs wouldn't be landing there I thought...to my surprise, by that evening the little gals were burned every where there was a milky spot earlier. I almost ditched the grow to start over I was so pissed. They have recovered with new shoot's out the tops but those first couple sets of leaves look pretty shitty. I personally won't use this product again on any of my plants. Oh yeah, that was the 2nd bottle I owned...the 1rst bottle lasted a month or 2 and got something growing like a scum that was floating around inside and clogged the nozzle. Stupid me went back and bought more because it was "safe". I love Fox Farms products and have used the soil, nutes and granular's with great success....but "Don't Bug Me" is not for me anymore.

Yep. That happened to me too, with a previous grow. Pretty much killed all the bugs....and the plants. This is a little different, because I have several different strains. I'm pretty sure I could submerge the Skunk#1 in it. It isn't impacted at all. But, I have a Big Bang that seems to act like it's nute burned when I spray it significantly.

Since this happened, i switched to Doctor Doom aerosol for the sensitive plants. It actually has the exact same Pyretherin quantity as the active ingredient as Don't Bug Me, and is a fine aerosol fog that goes on more like a smokescreen than the fine mist that Don't Bug Me puts out. No significant amount of the liquid sits on the leaves and I have not had the same problem since.

Any idea how long people use these into the flower cycle? I just read that Pyrethrin degrades with one or two light cycles. I have no idea how accurate that is.... just wondering about anyone's experience with this.

Oh, forgot to tell you and it's embarrassing to say.... when I was spraying my sprouts in the party cups I accidentally sprayed some on the hand holding the cup. I washed my hands good and forgot all about it. Later that afternoon I was dizzy as could be and had to wonder what I had eaten for lunch...then I remembered the spray. I gave my system a good flush with Coors Light and I was back to normal next morning.
