unless camo'ed out, a group of them together can be noticed from the air without any other detection devices. that's my thinking?

If you are using pots you could always do what I do - I bury mine 2/3's into the ground. The pots I use are pretty big and I don't want them sticking straight up in the air so I just dig a big hole and stick 'em in there.

So, if no one single plant is within 25 feet of another, they can only be spotted by visual?

Alright i think everyone is missing the point here. What i want to know is how often and where do these flyovers take place? I can't seem to find any hard facts relating to this aspect of growing outdoors. All the news articles i find are for HUGE crops. This is prolly, because 20 or 30 plants isn't news worthy, but how do I know?

I mean, are these helicopters following every stream and other water source 24 /7? it just doesn't seem logistically possible. I know what they look for "trash, trails, patterns, different hues of green, cut down trees", but what i would find more useful is where and how often they do flyovers!!!

I live in Michigan and there are lakes and streams EVERYWHERE, and i live relatively out in the country. I'm guessing that flyovers (unless they have been tipped off) are high altitude and they are looking for huge crops, but for all I know they could have a flying pigs in the air at all times. Does anybody actually know anything about outdoor flyovers?

under my county I searched for " marijuana busts" it actually gave me a list of how many plants were "seized" each season. The list actually goes back a number of years. You can then google the years of big busts and years they dont find any to give you an idea of how and why plants get found. combine that with some more research and some common sense and you should get an idea of how to grow without being all paranoid, cause it's not worth all the time and hard work if you can't enjooy it!

If your just growing for yourself, meaning a few plants, I wouldnt worry about as much as you are. Georege Washington used to grow weed and he founded this country! haha

with a warrant they scanned his house... he had to have already been busted because of snitches or other probable cause that would get them a warrant. Or had to have been looked at for some other crime that an infrared camera would be relavent and useful. doesnt matter what federal district the DEA was in the US supreme court set the precident years ago. that even trumps state rulings regaurdless. now thats not to say the cops wont do it anyway and that you wont go to prison. just means that our dirty ass gov't did you wrong and there isn't shit you can do about it... sucks right. thats why we need to out our representitives and start with true patriots...

newsworthy in my area... hypothetically speaking i would split it up into five or six separate plots a good little distance apart. they wont look for three or four plants haphazardly placed in a wooded area. if its your backyard i wouldnt een recommend trying it. just use common sense man. if you see helicopters out in the area find a new spot do your homework and it will pay off. if you dont feel like doing homework then plant em' an see what happens. thats about the best answer you could get without knowing the exact area yourgrowing in and actually going and spending time there. go camping buddy
