How big of a resovoir will I need with my setup?

Hello all I'm going to be starting my first hydroponic grow I will have 12 plants in 2 gallon pots of coco. So how big of a resovoir will I need? I was thinking 60 gal but could I get away with a 50 gal?

55 gal drum is easy to source and cheap. just find one that was food grade and didn't have chemicals in it

Could I substitute that with a 50 gal trashcan? Or is that to small for my setup?
