How bad to place plants in black bin bags for a day during flowering? Alternatives?!?

I have quite a serious issue, I'm going to have to take my tent down and hide around 20 plants for anything from a few hours to a whole day. They're going to have been in flowering for 2-3 weeks once it happens. They've only had a short veg time so they're not that large, probably slightly under 2 feet when it happens and some are a bit smaller. I plan on bagging them up in the morning and just stuffing them everywhere, some in boxes, some in cupboard and I'm even considering killing a few just to make the whole process easier (don't have a lot of space).

My light comes on at 9am and off at 9pm, I plan on bagging them up around 8-9am. So they're going to be in the dark for a while, is that bad? I have a week to prepare, maybe I could gradually change the light cycle so they'll be in the dark period once they're in the bags instead of one long dark period. Will they suffer due to lack of CO2? Could I maybe make some sort of mini CO2 thing with yeast and place them in the bags or would that be pointless?

Any other tips would be greatly appreciated, I have a week to rack my brains and I'm hoping it's just one day as I'm guessing they won't survive this sort of treatment if it happens a lot.

Overall my plants are extremely healthy, such a shame to have to put them through this, biggest worry is that the smell is going to permeate the bags.

Oh and another question, how bad would it be for the plants to be placed on their side, horizontally? That way I could shove a lot of them under the bed which would be a big load of my mind, I have no idea where I'm going to hide 20 plants..

I had to hide mine from lanlord.. my light turns off at 8am.. at 7am I woke up bagged then in black trash bags and loaded in my truck while my lanlord fixed my eletricty n roof leak lol.. he drove away and brought my plants in few hours later did this with 7 plants two in flowering and there all fine... leafs were really droppy n they looked upset but as soon as it was lights on they were good. If its warm were ur at load em in ur shed or attic/basment... not surre why ur hiding them tho. Gl!

They might suffer a bit from lack of CO2 but plants are pretty tough and I'm sure they will be OK. Lack of light should not be an issue since they are in flower.

If you are worried about CO2 and suffocating them you could make a CO2 generator and put in each bag. Bread yeast, water, sugar, oatmeal.

If you are worried about odors this stuff is magic:

I do not know the mechanics behind how it works but it does not just overpower one smell with another, but actually knocks the odor out of the air. Pretty amazing shit. It's become a staple in our home not for weed smell but just for general odors (3 dogs).

Good luck.

Repairs in a very very small flat. There's really nowhere I can take them as it would be more suspicious moving 20 plants through the corridor, down the lift, out to a car then back again. I'm going to give them a call early next week and see if I can find out more specifically when they're coming and how long they're going to be here. It's not an inspection and I know roughly what they're going to be doing, I just hope they don't say "Oh and let's take a look at the condition of the cupboards, we're thinking of changing them" or something man then I'm screwed.

Lmao n don't put em sideways. I can see u breakin a stalk. I wud baby sit for you lol
Well what I thought of doing was to bag them up, then very gently place them on their side whilst the bed is up against a wal then lower the bed on top, there's no way a stalk would as there's quite a few inches of clearence. If I can do it without breaking the stems will they do alright on their side or will that somehow damage them? I'm thinking all the water within the plant might go to one side of the plant killing it or something.

Unfortunately I have no money to spend on anything so it's just going to have to be a lot of plastic bags, and leaving windows open so theirs air circulating around so any smell that might escape won't be building up.

Do I need CO2? If it's not an issue then I'd rather not bother as I want everything to be quick and smooth, messing around with CO2 might just overcomplicate things. I'm going to be sealing them in bags very tighty, are you saying the lack of CO2 won't kill them?

That's not going to happen I promise. Water in soil tends to equalize out through the root / potting soil mass. Once you water and whatever excess drains out you are going to have a pretty uniform amount of water throughout the pot. Water wants to equalize in the soil.

Did you worry about excess water when the pots stood properly? Probably not.

U got storage bens? Or u can bag em at night when its dark n load em in ur car.. I got a locking closent with a pad lock but don't want em stankin up the place... mby if u do put em under ur bed u can make shift a lid over pot for soil.. tin foil??

I meant the water in the actual plant, seeing as plants are meant to be upright.. although I've spent the whole day with my measuring stick and I think I can squeeze the majority of my plants into the two large wardrobes, the smaller ones in boxes so I should be ok. Still a royal pain to have to dismantle my tent, ventilation etc.. really sucks.

I didn't understand most of that but like I said before car isn't an option, I don't have locks on the closet but they're not going in there. Smell shouldn't be an issue if I bag them well, I think.

If anyone has been in a similar situation and have any tips or ideas do share hehe

Lay them on there side under bed... this is not your best option, but it's better than nothing...
Move bed against wall away from where work may need to be done.
Try and have dry plants, don't water day before dry soil maybe will not fall out as easy when you tip your bitches....
Lay them top to top pots to outside...
Cover them with a comforter... if they wont fit, raise bed higher by putting bricks under each corner...
lay something sheet? under them so they will be up off floor...
What can you do ? Air freshener the room...
Good luck man...
They will be fine... Good Luck!

I just helped some friends with this same situation , they bagged the plants with contractor bags and then piled up empty cardboard boxes around them as instructed due to a Housing Inspection including the landlord .. Ona Gel was set out as well to mask any odors ..

All in all the plants spent most of there dark cycle in a bag and they were fine ..
