How are they looking now?

Hi guys, first time grower here just looking for some advice and direction.

One question I've got is why are some of my leafs drooping down and curling? I don't think it's over-watering as I've only been watering them every 2 - 3 days.

I also don't think it's heat stress as they are only four days into flowering with a 400w HPS, previous to that they were vegging under a 125w CFL. Only two out of my four plants are showing this problem.

Or perhaps as a new grower I'm over-worrying? Thanks for any help or replies.

Plants are looking fine bro, could need MORE water if you watering every 2-3 days,or just watering every 1-2 days would be better.
You may be too cautious as a first time grower dude but dont worry much...its not rocket science, just a plant.
I would have veged the plants for another week or 2 before changing to 12/12 but anyhow.....Good luck

cut back on the ferts some, those leaves are starting to get pretty dark green. What is your ph at? how are you determining when you need to water?

Hey guys thanks for the input. I vegged the plants for 7 weeks from seedling, I thought that was plenty of time, lol.

My Ph is between 6 and 6.5 usually, I live in a soft water area so the water quality is pretty good. I'm watering them whenever I think they need it. By picking them up and feeling the weight and also sticking my finger into the soil a few inches to see if they need it. As for ferts I've been giving them 3/4 of the recommended dosage, and it's Ionic ferts I've been using

What does the pretty dark leaves mean exactly? Is this a sign of something not right?

Cheers guys.

7 weeks should be plenty??For 7 weeks the plants look small but anyway healthy,as for your leaves "looking dark" ive never heard a statement like that, and dont believe it has anything to do with anything at all,i wouldnt look into that as a problem,as for the leaves drooping in my experiance it is either no enough water or a root problem.
I dont think you have either, dont worry about much just yet,but keep an eye on them anyways...

its a sign that the plant has as much nutrients as it can possibley handle and adding more will not help only hurt by causing a possible lockout and badly damaging the leaves and burning the root system.

You are at the max with the ferts with those plants. Great job though!
Sorry I not sure what you mean? Like I said earlier I'm only using the nutes at 3/4 of the strength. Also the plants have plenty of drainage. I'm starting to think It may be under-watering, anybody else agree?

how often do you use the nutes to feed? What type of nutes? what type of soil/grow medium?

I give them nutes every watering about every 3 days, It's Ionic Bloom for soil, and the medium is soil. I've got Ionic Boost ready for when it's time (It says to add that after 2 weeks of flowering).

Am I meant to add nutes every watering?

If the soil is decent I would say fertilize at the very most once every 7-10 days. Possibly even longer. You have overfertilized. Just give those babies pure water for the next week or 2 until they start coming around. It takes practice and experience to tell when to fertilize by observing the plant. Don't fert every watering. This is not a hydroponic grow, there are a lot of nutrients held in the soil.

I see, I thought they were meant to get nutes every watering. I will lay off the nutes for a week or so to see how they go. Hopefully they will start to perk back up.

i know that your soil looks dry on top but its showing classic signs of overwatering. Does your pot have good drainage? I see very little perlite in your soil. Is your soil compact?

I think it has got good drainage, the pots are from a hydroponics shop, there's plenty of holes in the bottom of them. It perhaps looks dry on top because they are due a watering tonight.
The soil I'm using is Canna Terra Profesional. I never used perlite as there was already perlite mixed into the soil. I'm not sure if the soil's compact, I wouldn't think so as I broke and put it in the pots loosely.
