I've been reading this forum and others. I'm about 6 weeks into my grow.
I ordered 3 feminized seeds from attitude and they sent me 1 free. I used stealth shipping, removed them from the blister packs and got the coffee cup (which is a very nice cup by the way)
I got:
Dutch Passion seeds Strawberry Cough (OK)
The Bulldog seeds Bubblegum Kush (did not germinate)
Ministry of Cannabis Northern Lights (OK)
UFO #1 Samsara seeds Punky Lion (Freebie, not very tall)
I have an out of the way space that I turned into a hidden room.
It's about 2.5 feet x 5 feet x 7 feet tall.
I've got an actual bookshelf that slides on rails/hinges and it's totally hidden.
I built a lightbox filled with CFLs. Their combined output is a little less than 20,000 lumens. The entire box is sealed with plexiglass on the bottom to let light out. There are 2 120mm fans blowing air into the box and then a flexible duct with duct fan that evacuates the box to the roof. Temp directly under the lights is 80 degrees. At the plants it's 75-78.
I'm at about 6 weeks. About a week ago I topped them all. The Strawberry cough and Northern Lights are about 11 inches tall. The Punky lion is about 7 inches tall. Over all my plants look to me to be a LOT bushier than what I usually see in pictures. I think this is good but I'm not sure. Max high I can get them is about 6 feet without them hitting my lights. But my lights are only slightly above room temp so I can get them pretty close.
My el-cheapo light meater says the plants are getting about 12000 lumans at their tops and about 7000 near the bottoms. They are so bushy though that I doubt the center leaves are getting much light.
I do have some browning on the tips of the Northern lights and the Punky lion. The Strawberry cough has a few leaves that are "crinkled" and have yellow stripes in the center. Also the stems are red/purplish. I took this to mean either I over fertalized (I only fertalized once, about a week ago) or I was Magnesium defficiant. So I flushed all 3 plants and then watered with a teaspoon of epson salt. So right now, I'm over watered but I figured that was better than having too much fertalizer in soil.
I have very good drainage. 5 gallon buckets with 6 inchest of rock and drain outlets in them. I used Mirical grow moisture control potting mix so it will lose the excess water pretty quickly if I leave it alone.
So... how am I doing? Do these look ok? Should I do anything else? Should I flower soon?
