How am i doing? (Long island, new york) vanilla kush clone started in door in april at about 2" tall nd now stands 6' tall with a 7.2' circumference and a 5' base. she is just starting to grow litte white hairs or (pistils) all over.. the only thing im kinda upset about is a lot of the tips of these white hairs are a little brownish or redish color kinda.. they dont look like the original plant the clone come from... all tho she is very big and the veg process went smoothy, im afraid im fucking up the flowering process some how. it was very hard to get a pix of these hairs but any tips or ideas would help... thanks.. -Gee.
P.S. if u look really closely at the last pix u can kind of see the brown tips of two white hairs. o and that beetle was taken care of in the 3rd pix lol.

you're name isn't fitting anymore. Looks healthy as shit. Maybe trim up some of the growth that's not being exposed to sun, but that's it. No need to fuck with it too much. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. That plant should produce pretty well.

You could also pick up some dolimite lime and put some on your dirt. That should bring your ph into an acceptable range. How often are you watering and how much water? You do have an issue that's starting with some of your new growth leaves curling up. It's minor, but it's there.

First off, she looks beautiful! Great job!

Now to your question....

Don't worry about the pistils turning brown/red, this can happen if something even brushes against them and can also depend on the strain. It can also just mean that your plant is mature. You want to pay attention to the trichomes (the little clear/milky looking appendages covering your buds). Those will begin clear and as the buds mature will turn milky and then opaque when THC levels peak, after this your THC levels will begin to degrade. So harvesting at the right time is important. Many people will harvest when about 3/4 of the trichomes are opaque (sometimes reddish in color, although this can vary with strain too). Harvesting your buds at varying times in trichome development will also produce different types of highs. Earlier harvest will produce more of a head high and later harvest will produce more of a body high. But don't harvest too late or much of the THC will have degraded. The picture should help you with this too and to show you what they look like. Getting a decent magnifying glass can allow you to get a good idea of your trichomes development.

Cheers!

Lady bugs are a good way to clear up some of your bug problems, but they won't hang around forever, eventually they will fly off in search of other food sources once they have eaten all the nasty critters getting at your lady! Just means that if the critters come back you'll have to get more lady bugs, kinda pricey, but worth it for the great yield you are sure to get! You can also try getting a praying mantis...it could be a cool pet haha and will eat just about any pest that could ruin your plant. I'm not sure where you could buy them at a store, but here is a link to a website that offers both lady bugs and praying mantis. http://www.gardeners.com/1500-Adult-Ladybugs/05-239RS,default,pd.html

And I know what you mean, it is really nice to have other people looking out for you and your ladies! :)
