Horse shit... fresh or frozen??

should i collect a big wet steamer or does it matter that its freezing out, the lady told me to get it after the thaw in a few days, im thinking about trying to pick up a fresh dump

any info on dung hydration?

no fresh, composted dry heap would be best it will smell like earth and leached of nutrients. you may have to wait till spring when it warms up a little to collect that shit.

she said it would come out of her trailer? its cold out, she said to get it when it thaws a bit, does this sound like good shit? i only need a little bit 2 trays worth

dont ever handle fresh scat. assuming you're trying to use dung as myc food you need completely dry/seasoned dung. you'll never know what stage it's in if you take it now. yes, horse/cow dungs are some of the most innocuous, but you never know what disease/parasite that particular animal had. never fresh and if you cant tell how seasoned it is because of cold/ice/damp then patience is a virtue. also, if it was pooped during cold season there is no way its ready.

im still going to look around, will straight popcorn be better than brown rf?

it seems like moisture isnt as important they say dry the kernals use dry verm ect??

I think you might be better served reading Stamets "growing gourmet and medicinal mushrooms" (library) or familiarizing yourself with all of RogerRabbits notes (available en masse on other sites). It kind of sounds like you need to pick one educational resource/tek and read it all the way through until you know it. good luck.
