Hooking up Carbon Filter Inside Tent

Kind Sir

Well-Known Member
Hey guys, Im dam near two weeks till harvest and just got my carbon filter. 400 cfm Phresh Filter with 435 cfm Hurricane Inline (both 6in.) My hood is 8in, so I bought two 8 to 6" duct reducers.

1. What should I use to hang filter inside tent (4x4 apollo tent) Huge Zip ties? Anything thatll hold it up huh?

2. I want to have ducting go into different area..I could put it out my window, or I also have a WARM AIR INTAKE right above my tent?

I just want the smell gone atleast, so worst case scenario Ill duct into hallway outside the room.

Yo dude, those straps that you get with a grow tent are really good for hanging filters, or cable ties are just as good.

also duct into that hallway outside the room bro, if the filter fails you will smell it before anyone else does, also you wont have a 'hot spot' coming out of your window if stealth is your thang.

Thanks for your reply bro, im hanging it up right now. I didnt get straps with my tent (apollo horticulture 4x4.) I was going to use big zip ties or something to strap it to the top of my tent, then duct it to the hood, out of the room with my inline at the end? I dont feel confident in hanging my fan as well IDK. Will that work out?

I use chains from home depot to hang my filter, dont trust straps for hanging that 60 lb s.o.b. myself. I pull through the filter and air cooled hoods and have the fan exhausting into the attic. It was the best way i could find to move the hot air and kill smell.

Ive always used CAN filters. My first one, a can 35, lasted me for three years w no problems. I have had a CAN 50 running for the last two and you cant smell shit outside that room still.

I found the straps that came with my tent, ill use those plus huge zip ties for support. Few questions. @707humboldt @DirtyNerd [USER=310981
1. Can I run exhaust into my warm air intake, after its gone through carbon filter? (Next option is just to another room.)

2. I just hang it as high as itll go in a corner, then simply run ducting to it?

3. Is it in anyway better for fan to be INSIDE tent opposed to (example, on the floor) in theexhaust room?

My plants are in the ten obviously, and itd be a bitch to move them.. so my woman and I are going to put it up smoothly, hopefully. Shouldnt be an issue?

The idea behind intake is to bring in fresh CO2 rich air. Exhaust from your tent has less CO2 than outdoor air. So you need to exhaust somewhere else. The only way a closed loop like that would work is if you had a CO2 burner or other CO2 producing mechanism in place...place the fan outside the tent if you can. If it were to fall it could damage your plants

I appreciate your reply, I didnt have room in my 4x4 to comfortably put fan inside anyway. Thats all I was looking for, thanks for your time.

if your scrubber weighs 60lbs, then that tent is not going to be able to support that weight from the ceiling supports. shit my tent couldn't hold my 45lb hood, it bowed like my hunting bow and almost snapped. I had it in a secret jardin 5x10x7 tent. so its a high quality tent, not a cheap pile of shit. I have my hoods hung from the ceiling joists with 150# hooks and 200# chain and carabineers.

I have mine on milk crates, but my scrubber weights a bit more than 60lbs.

Mine sits on top of a 5 gal bucket. Even tho I built the "tent" out of wood and it could hold it, I can rest easier with it not hanging above the ladies.

My filter with carbon, weighs 21.6 LBS (6x16 6" Phresh ) I have 4x4 apollo tent, nothing special but it holds it up fine. Id rather have it on a bucket but I have no space at all.

I have my tent in a 10x10x8ft room with a window and a warm air intake on the ceiling. Can I have inline blow scrubbed air into the warm air intake?
Once harvest is over, Im ditching the tent as I now believe utilizing the space will work better. Add another 600W, get a decent air condition or mini split if I could find a good deal and were set.

***What do you guys use for AC during summer, if at all?

14k btu portable ac in my 8x12x7 built sealed room underground/basement setting with 3x600hps. 73-75* lights on and 73-75* lights off :)

I run my a/c every day of the year, even in winter.

If you get that burner you also need a sniffer of some sort. It puts off a lot of heat especially in a small tent. If you run can you want the room sealed with no vents

No ac passive intake. Maxed out in wattage. Sucks but I can keep it around 85 or so in summer. I vent straight out the window.
