hooking multiple lights together

hi guys

would this work????


hook about 4 fixtures to a pig tail and then it would be only1 output. i want to use 46w cfls. if this wont work can you guys give me a direction to go in to set a simular setup.

I just redone my computer and can't draw a picture so lets try this

Take all the light sockets and the extension cord or what ever you use for the plug and strip the ends of the wires.

Using wire nuts and tape tie all the white wires together and then the black one's and the green one's. Use wire nuts to secure the wires and tape over the wire nuts to keep them from coming loose. Plug the thing in.

Try to keep the power end at least 12 gauge wire. That size is good for 15 amps. Find out how much current the light draws. Then add all the currents together. That will determin the wire size. Too small a wire and you have a fire hazard. If you need more help please let me know

I think you might could use 3 y sockets. The y sockets are supposed to be good up to 600 watts.
You would put 1 in your "fixture" then 1 y socket in each end of the 1st y socket. then you will have 4 sockets off of 1.
y sockets are really cheap like .75
I think it would depend on the current that the main socket can handle.
