HomeMade CO2

I seen someone made CO2 in a 2 liter soda bottle with yeast, sugar, and water and then made a hole in the cap for a hose to be put in the cap, but i don't know for sure how much was used. I made some today by guess work, it's been 2 hours any no bubbling yet, dos it take time? or dos someone have a exact set up (2 cups of this, 2 tablespoons of that, etc.) and the hose thats in the cap dos it dave to go straight down, or can it go up, and then down to the plants? I do know that the exhaust, and the inside fan have to be turned of, but how long? I don't want to buy a tank for the small amount i'm growing and it's winter here and i don't want to leave the basement windows open just to let some CO2 in.
Thanks

I just make the solution, but I do mine in a milk container...
Then, I shake that sh*t up good...leave it....
then start shakin it again the next day.
Dont over analyze it, its not gonna bubble all over the place..... just little bubbles everywhere.

I use the yeast method
I use 1/2 gallon containers with one pack of yeast 1 cup of sugar and filled half way with luke warm water 110 to 115 degrees no hotter or you will kill your yeast.
They should begin right away with warm water, but will slow down as they cool off and use up all their sugar(food)

The tube is to have the C02 right above your plants. the hose goes above your plants as the C02 is heavier than 02 and will settle over your plants.

To keep them alive and never have to buy more yeast change half of their water every 3 days with luke warm water add 1/3 cup of sugar each time you change your yeast water.

it is much easier to just make some wine, then when your done you get to drink too...
