i started a homebrew today. double india pale ale

had no idea what i was doing. a friend really made things happen, let me borrow his gear for a few weeks and helped show me how to do everything.

can't wait, 10gallons (7 for me, 3 for my friend) of 10% beer for ~$60. i'm gonna get sooo drunk.

hopefully, someday, i'll be getting drunk and high and tripping on my own supply.

if all goes right, i'll have a good supply by labor day. there's a big harvest party in october that i plan on supplying extensively.

any thoughts on enhancing a brew with cannabis?

OH! My husband makes the BEST peach hefeweizen. He hasn't brewed in three years, either, all his stuff's down in the garage. I don't care for beer most of the time, but he holds back on the hops when he brews something that I'm going to drink. SO much better without all the damn hops. Plus, I love how bready hefes are. Mmm... home brew.

You gonna bottle and allow natural carbonation, or keg and carbonate by hand?

You know what? I know that bottling is a pain in the ass, I truly do. But, the carbonation is so different, it's much... mmm.. I guess I have to say that it's "finer" on the tongue. I prefer natural carbonation because of it.

Well you can stay with extract and keep it simple, or go all out and do all grain. I was thinking about buying a kegging system but like I said I came to the realization that I really just don't like all the various styles as much as cheap miller light. I have not had anything to drink in a month or 2 and tried a miller light the other night and didn't even like that though. I guess its all about what you like.

I was actually thinging about it..my hydroponics shop has an area for wine and beer making
There's also a really good supplier my husband uses, they have all sorts of kits. Northern Brewer, I think is the name of the outfit. It's where he picked up the peach hefe kit. Mmm... hefeweizen... 8) And today would be SUCH the perfect day to enjoy one, too. I actually had to put on the A/C before noon. This is the fifth day this entire summer I've had to put on the A/C.

the local hydro/brew shop would get even more of my money. i tend to take my hobbies seriously and excessively. it seems like the kind of activity and results i could get used to.

$500-$1000 would get me a fine fine setup. i've got an outdoor natural gas supply and a basement at 70F.
