not going to work. People spend thousands of dollars to get the exact correct spectrum of light for growing. a handful of $4 xmas lights isn't going to do anything. Just get some CFLs or T5s

no. You can buy LED lights that use 3.5 watts that come in 4,100k and 2,700K and put out a little over 1,000 lumes and that's around 333 lumes per watt the only prob is that they cost $10 for 1
 
thanks for the info guys

jus wondering because im on a budget would i be able to use 23 or 42 watt CFLs for growing in my Pc Grow box

at the moment i can only find 3000k and 5000k in these watt lights
