High!

My handle is home.grower. I grow bud. I like to grow bud. I like to smoke bud. I smoke too much sometimes. But then I roll another!

I am currently growing an unknown strain, so I won't linger on my current bloom operation.

In the veg room I have, what I believe to be BB Cheese clones. There are 6 clones in total under 1 x 125W Envirolite 6400K in a space that measures 2m wide x 1.5m deep x 1.5m high. The entire room is floor to ceiling smooth reflective mylar. There is a 6" inline extractor constantly removing air and a ducted inlet to balance the vacuum.

History

The 6 BB Cheese clones currently in veg came from 3 other clones that arrived 09/19/2007. The 3 mothers had their two lowest branches removed for cloning before they went into bloom, which are the 6 I now have in veg. The 3 mothers have since been flowered, harvested and smoked (not all) and it is definitely the UK.Cheddar!

The 6 clones were taken on the 10/04/2007. The clones were properly rooted in their rockwool by 10/20/2007. The clones were then potted into 500ml pots on 10/23/2007.

The 6 BB Cheese have been in the veg room for 56 days so far (11/28/2007). The veg room conditions are far from ideal. I am yet to check the max/min temps. I'm afraid it will cost me something to install adequate heating. Money I do not have. The plants that have been previously vegged in this space have all done well even though conditions are not ideal, so I'm not overly worried about perfecting the veg environment.

I will be either;

1. Bringing all 6 clones into the bloom room, or
2. Taking 12 cuttings from the 6 clones as well as number 1.

over the next few weeks. I'm undecided about what action to take.

The 6 vegging clones have been misted regular with Formulex and have had Mother Earth Super Tea Grow with Barricade. The EC level of the mix is 1.2 and will be up to 1.3-1.4 by the time the enter the bloom garden.

I will upload some images in my next post. Thanks for reading :)

Here I shall post a few images.

Image 1
is of the Cheese mothers when they were just 9 days in to their bloom phase under 1.2kW-hps in 15L pots (10/12/2007).

Image 2 is of the 6 cuttings taken from the Cheese mothers after 9 days in the propagator (10/13/2007). Regular misting with Formulex.

Image 3 is of the 6 clones in pots after 3 days in pots / 22 days in the veg room (10/26/2007). Still misting and about to commence very light Mother Earth Grow feed.

Image 4 is also of the 6 clones in pots after 3 days in pots / 22 days in the veg room (10/26/2007).

Here I shall post a few more images.

Image 4 is of my BB Cheese clones today: Day 56 in Veg (11/28/2007).

Yesterday they had Mother Earth Grow and Barricade up to EC1.2/pH6.4-.5

I do need improvements in the veg room. An oscillating fan would be a bonus as would thermostat controlled heating and ventilation. For now I will stick to what I have in the veg department and hopefully I'll stick around long enough for readers to witness the developments.

I do not know the room temps or humidity. I am only certain about EC and pH levels of feed.

My chemical array is as follows:

Advanced Nutrients - Jump Start
Advanced Nutrients - Mother Earth Super Tea Grow
Advanced Nutrients - Mother Earth super Tea Bloom
Advanced Nutrients - Sensi Grow 2 part
Advanced Nutrients - Sensi Bloom 2 part
Advanced Nutrients - Voodoo Juice
Advanced Nutrients - Barricade Potassium Silicate
Advanced Nutrients - Carboload
Advanced Nutrients - Big Bud
Advanced Nutrients - Overdrive
Advanced Nutrients - Fulvic F1
Advanced Nutrients - Humic H2

I do not necessarily use all chemicals at the same time. I do tend to mix my own ratio of whatever I'm led to believe the plants want on any given day. But that just about provides an idea for what is at my disposal.

I've tried a couple of other manufacturers and my preference is the premium product because I believe I get what I pay for.

The bloom room measures a mere 8' wide x 8' tall x 5' deep. It is supplied with air from outside via 2 4" fan assisted ducted inlets. It is lit with a 6" dual cool tube containing 2 x 600W hps bulbs. The tube is cooled with an 8" RVK inline extractor, while the other end of the tube is terminated with a 6" Carbon filter. The bloom room is self contained. The normal daytime temperature at this time of year is around 22C in the bloom room. The night time temperature is stabilized by use of a thermostat which switches between the cool air inlet and the heated air inlet. Both inlets never operate at the same time. There is a slight vacuum in the bloom room that avoids pressurized build up of odour. The extraction is slightly more than the inlets in that respect. There is a single 12" oscillating fan which no longer oscillates which is the primary air movement device.

I will add images of the bloom room as the time approaches to induce flowering with the Cheese plants. Until then, watch this thread. :) thanks for reading

Thanks pccdrom. My current blooming plants have the same physical characteristics as yours. I don't think you have Cheese in your hydro.

Pics of BB Cheese clones @ 57 days in veg (11/29/07)

mine are recovering, from nute burn, its not good!
be prepared for buds coming from everywhere if u have same strain, i only got 1 600w but buds seem to be everywhere.
any early pre flowers?

Day 58 in Veg

Today I've re potted the 6 BB Cheese clones from their 1/2L pots into 6L pots.

The previous soil mix was Plagron 50L and B'cuzz Special Mix 50L for no specific reason. The transplant grow medium is Canna Terra Pro+. I have used all three brands of soil on independent tests in the past and highly rate Plagron and Canna grow mediums. The B'cuzz soil is simply OK, if u know what I mean.

Each 6L pot had 500mL of Hydroton Clay balls added to the bottoms before adding the canna soil. This is just a drainage assistant.

The tallest of the clones, now plants, stands around 10". One of the plants looks like its being eaten up by mites, i'll have to spray em again. The root development is rather good (see pic), even on the shortest of the plants.

After potting I sprayed them with Formulex. I haven't watered yet because the small pots were not dry when I took the root mass out. I will be watering them tomorrow, but I shall check their status in a few hours time to ensure they aren't wilting.

I've bought a hygrometer, so I shall now be able to watch the max/mins.. I only anticipate spending more money on a heating system to see us through the winter.

I think I will take 2 cuttings from each of the 6 clones over the coming weeks depending on their development. They will be the last shift in generation. I plan to keep a few as BB Cheese mothers, but bloom the rest, until I purchase some seeds and get a decent perpetual grow in motion

Quick Check:

10/04/2007:
day 1 in prop - The 6 clones were taken, placed under 125W 6400K.
10/20/2007: day 16 in prop - The clones were properly rooted in their rockwool.
10/23/2007: day 1 in pots - The clones were then potted into 500ml pots.
11/30/2007: day 38 in pots - The clones were transplanted.

OK, my error. I haven't inspected them up close and personal to date. I haven't been worried about their gender due to their mothers doing well and the current blooming plants doing well, which came out of the same environment. I will check next time I pay them a visit and let you know.

Today I've checked on the (supposed: pccdrom has me thinking) ladies in veg. They look to have taken to re potting very well. I fed them with Sensi 2 part Grow, Barricade and Voodoo Juice to EC1.2/pH6.5. I trust I will be able to get the amount of cuttings from them previously mentioned. I also blasted them with SpiderMite Control as one of them is definitely infested on its lower leaves. Not much else to report. This thread will get interesting when the bloom phase commences!

Orite LoudBlunts, Mother Earth is ok I guess. Its been with me for numerous years now and is a good base nutrient. I like using mother earth as much as possible in early stages of veg and bloom as it is not over powering, even with all the other additives included. Sensi on the other hand .... you gotta be and expert with the measures... mwahahahahaha

Not tried monkey juice!

how was big bud?
I guess you mean, how is it to use. Very good. Does what its supposed to, and very well. It aids early flower production and gets the plant producing its essential oils early and heavily. By the time the Big Bud phase is over i usually have my pistils fully developed and copious amounts of resin. Then I go to Overdrive and watch those calyxes swell and firm up.

Day 63 since cutting: Day 44 since first potting: Day 5 since re potting: Minutes since last photo-shoot :)

They are doing great. I love my work. I want other to enjoy it with me. The six are looking great imo. Temps are low 14C/18C max mins. But thats the spring time climate. I think they like it. More light would make em grow quicker, save that till bloom I thinks. I wonder if 125W to 1200W is too much of a big jump? ahh well, they have to like it and lump it unless I get a 250W MH and cooltube array for the veg room.

Almost time to take some cuttings for the other operations. I'm still misting them with formulex. Watering as and when necessary. But leaving the most part to nature in a box, if there's such a thing.

Check the mug shots

And that's all 6 cheese plants. One of which looks kinda like it will end up bushy-like.
