So I was thinking about replacing my Cap Extreme controller the other day and had an epiphany.
About half my house is automated via Insteon right now and I'm about to finish the task, so I put two and two together and realized instead of trying to setup home controls and grow room controls seperatly why not just go ahead and combine them!
I was planning on using Indigo as the main management system and since you can create complex relationships between components and actions Im thinking that this is a much better solution in the end then any of the grow control systems Ive seen (cap,sentinal).
Its also alot cheaper in the end - 200 for control system, about 40 per socket to control and 50-100 per sensor type added.
Has anyone else tried to use normal home automation solutions for grow room control?
Trying to test the waters out before I do it but having a universal system manageing the entire house and grow as a whole instead of having seperate systems in places seems like a golden idea. Also the whole having mobile control over the entire thing is really nice too.
