Hey guys - I need some opinions to help me make a decision.
I grow 2 plants at a time, in scrog, under 2x200W CFL, usually bringing in 4oz every couple of months or so.
I intended to have a break for a couple of months due to a weeks holiday at the end of the month. However I have 1 plant which is well developed and not far off being able to go 12/12, and the temptation to not have a break (and so not have to ration as strictly) is very strong. Holiday is in 1.5 weeks, plant should go veg in the next week or so but could go as early as now.
So I have 3 ideas floating round in my head and would appreciate peoples opinions...
1. Put into veg when ready, leave lights on 12/12 while away. Pros - Best vield option. Cons - Worry about lights being on in empty house while away, especially in early flowering 'stretch'.
2. Kill it, start from seed in 3 weeks. Pros - Holiday with no concerns about the house. Cons - No weed for many weeks more!
3. Veg until the holiday, then turn off the lights, put the plant in the best sunny spot in the house for the week away. Come back and put it back under the lights for 7/8 weeks. Pros - Chance of some weed, Holiday with no concerns about the house. Cons - Chance of no weed after another week+ electric.
As I've typed this its pushing me more towards option 3. I worry the stress (and nasty stretch) of the week in the window will mean a lost plant, but at least I'll enjoy the holiday. Anyone else tried something similar who can report? Spring is in progress here so there are at least sunny days here and there...
