It's almost like babby jesus didn't invent the light meter.

People buy pH meters and EC meters without hesitation to dial in input at the roots, why are people so damn scared to buy a light meter to dial in the input at the leaves? Using rando static measurements online vs. actually having real live measurements from your grow...you get what you deserve. My Phantom Photobio was something like $120 and takes ALL the guess work out of lighting.

"Unlike most other 600 watt grow lights that demand 24 to 48 inches of space between the light and the plant, the HLG Scorpion grow lights only require 12 inches at full power!"

I've been running my SD at 9 and 12" from the canopy, 3rd grow like this and no real problems.

Wasnt this you on friday.. last week

Hey Rurumo

I'm running a Scorpion Diablo, It's probably very close to your light.

I have a couple of questions about light height above the canopy and % power on the dimmer.

Last grow I dial'd up to 90% and the top colas were inches below the light. All of my leaves burned off, except the sugar leaves, colas were great. Great harvest 1230 grams with 4 plants under 600 watts.

This grow my canopy is 12" below the light and the leaves seem to be growing ok. Again set on 90% power.

Questions:

1. What height should I keep my light above the canopy? I imagine this is as well a function of light power %.

2. What % power are you keeping your light? What if all the room you have is 12 between light and canopy? What power then?

Thanks!

I'd try turning way down for veg. %10 to %20 would be a good start. Way more intense then hps or mh! Seen many nice grows from those lights! I don't have dimmer on my 660w and need to raise it a few feet during veg, also can only run 16hr or they freak out. Hope you get them figured out and are impressed by them. They are one of the best built lights available from what I've read. Good luck!

I've been running my light at 9 of 10 at 12 inches. I had some burned leaves last grow, I don't know if it's from light burn or heat.

Well I have poked up and down the % , what happens with the plants from day one under these ,they stop growing...leaves look like over watering.
I had to put them for once a day short burst of water that they would get something...but pots still heavy and I mean tiny pots they have !!!
The other group which is under metal halide are nearly doubled in size in last couple of days . These under leds have grown 0 .
Now the lights are on 30% and 2 feet a part from plants. Just put them like that...and now I am not even going to spit in their direction.
I am so glad that as soon as there is space in flower rooms they get under good old HPS huhhh..I hate those freaking Leds.

drama queen- things dont happen over night dude, maybe listen to some of the guys here that have been trying to help. Its not a big change - its a user error not a product fault
Thanks I'we done pretty much all what been suggested the plants are not responding positively any how. It's jus so frustrating to pay so much of something and can't make it work. I mean I haven't done anything crazy with them , only tried between 20-40 % and days are rolling and still frosen mummies :wall:
