HLG QB272 Rspec FR panels, anyone?

Anybody else have some of those in service already?
I'm probably G2G for lighting, but with the Croptober sales I have been weak...lol!
I dropped an order for 4 boards and a pair of their Slate 2 double sinks.
There's a dozen old skool QB288's in one 4*8 being under-driven now but I think it would give even better coverage for the girls.
I should have ordered earlier but I probably need to finish a few before I try to modify anything lol

I'm pretty sure I can attach a pair of QB272 inbetween the end frames and that's gunna beam better than turning the frames 90° and I've got a few meanwell 240/54A's just asking to get back into service!
Woo Hoo!

Thats a really good deal as far as HLG goes but what are the diodes, no mention in the HLG description?
@robincnn or any of the HLG staff, what diodes, make and bin, on those midpowers and reds?

CSR told me Seoul Semiconductor.
I believe this is a MCPCB that Stephen designed and it's used on a bunch of their current fixtures.
IDK if they are going to publish it so chiminilly willy can rip that off too!
#6 or #7 episode of the HLG shooooW has some mention of the ripoff factor by Brian (Da mau5).
Same MCPCB is used on anything that's waving the Rspec FR moniker.
BITD, I snapped up a dozen of the V1 QB288's before they were gone and they have Lumileds and I like them better than the 301B's that were also available back then.
HTH !

Do you know what reds? Seoul again?
Still feel that any light maker should be able say what theyre selling. I dont doubt is something good, its nice that they have cheapo options again. How longs the sale on for?

Roger that...
You can't patent devices that are already holding one, but if you reverse engineered an asian light - they wouldn't like it much either.
The secret is only keeping the chiminilly willy chameleons and parrots away for awhile.

FWIW, I'm not sure that Stephen and Amit are around much here nowadays - they have over a hundred people to keep tabs on and I hear they're looking to double those employees by 2026, and IDK how long you'll be around letting the ripoff artists do what they do - instead of innovate and be profitable.

I just like to support US things when I can, and regardless of COO I don't like keeping on doing what's considered "normal business" practices - if that model is kept onward, (it's not sustainable IMO and it shows all around) doing what it's doing, change will never occur - if that makes sense.
Printing Mo money ain't gettin' it!
I didn't get very specific answers but I wouldn't be surprised they are - since Osram, Sammy and the other top end players are considerably more coinage for ANY Reds.
Ouput should be somewhat typical with a dozen 660/ & 730's are only 4 per MCPCB - I don't have test equipment to verify but they published an output of 2.47 uM/j and the spectral layout looks fair enough for a board aimed straight at the asian overseas sales. (Provided you look over the products and read between the lines)
I've been doing decent with only 3000k and I have never had any HLG branded far or deep red though I have a few amz QB style lamps I have either used for seedlings or a single auto I needed to move and you already know those things have a smattering of UVA, FR, Deep and I only have run one amz light I liked and the thing was close to 75+% deep reds but boy did it stress out the few under it! lol
I hope I'll have my mitts on the goods tomorrow or so and I'll be ready to slap a 250/54A Ming Wei on em and do a little "blindness test" for sure
O yeah, if I see that much more bulk from the Red I'll get some reds and pop em on the frames and tap em with a buck converter to ADD more plus the QB132's could use a little love!

"published an output of 2.47 uM/j"
Where was this published? At 120w? Do you know if its standard par range or ePar? 2.47 at board level isnt that great, but the far red lies outside the standard par range: if its not counted towards Par then the efficiency is actually a bit higher

I think the Croptober sales on thru the 28th so better nab some if you want the good price.
Panels came this afternoon, I just finished popping em on the sinks and will fire up and test them soon enough.
The boards are wearing the Seoul logo and they look great so far!

More later...

Fair enough question...
YES.
The double fits fine and there's no reason it's fine with the others because of the hole pattern and MCPCB are the same size.
I've pondered that for only milliseconds lol
Stephen and Amit are smart guys and I believe they know better than to shoot themselves AND the customers in the foot by breaking what's already fixed...
The site lists in various places, the QB304, QB288 and QB648 but I found NOTHING stating it fit the QB272 Rspec FR but why would you change the board size and hardware locations when you can have less to keep track of? If you're going to ChooT 'eM - do it with photon love!
@Rocket Soul
Look at the pages of the various Rspec FR luminaries and take away from it what you will.
The 2.47 is not impressive but I am (and most other are not), or have no intentions of running CO² and the 2.9+ fixtures are overkill for that.
There's also verbiage on the site saying min distance is 15” and at less than 17 watts I can see the humor in that spec.
I have not been disappointed in any HLG product to date and so far, me likey.

NVM the colors and contrast, etc - I left the (one) image alone except the cropping for the 16.5w picture. The other two were not so easy to see with the cameras CCD squinting as bad as I was. Had to tweak it a little.
On a Mean Well HLG-240-54A I saw a wall draw of just over 270 watts with a minimum of 16.5 - should be well worth the regular MSRP any day of the week and for 25% off it's good to produce a really uniform canopy cannon...
PZEM-031 I believe is the power meter model IIRC. Never had a doubt it for accuracy and that C-1750B's pull around 250 with 4 or 8 QB132's which is typical and I have no reason to doubt that 53.95v @ 271.9 watts is way more than I'll ever drive a pair and at even a hundred watts that going to up canopy penetration just a "shade" lol
