HLG 550 V2 Rspec w/UVA Review & Grow

This will be a review and grow from box opening to chop on the:

HLG 550 V2 Rspec
UVA Bar

I am going to review this light, and put it up against some other manufacturers in a grow.

wow, rivets?! I don't like rivets. HLG boards are great, but I hate rivets!

Yeah it's nice that they sell diy parts so you don't have to deal with rivets if you don't want to.

Ya, and as far as standing behind their product, I'm pretty sure they won't ever be beat. As a DIYer, rivets don't work well for me, but in all reality, with a bulletproof quality light and such a good warranty, being able to quickly tear apart the lights or not will be a non issue for 99.9% of folks out there. For non DIYers, this is THE light to buy IMO.

Watching this thread too I like that you separated the lights into their own threads its less confusing

Are these available to buy now? The red metal mounting board and black plastic HLG 550 look really sharp. Reminds me of a Ferrari.

The HLG 550 V2 Rspec is available now. I don't believe the UVA bar is available yet, you'll have to check with HLG.

Big P are they rivets? Or allen key screws?

Chunky buggers! Don't like them either but this is the 550 so its not meant to be DIY'd anyhow.

Right, this is the non-DIY version. I would think a DIY'er should be confident in their skills to remove rivets.
A rivet is no big deal to take out, takes about 5 seconds with a drill and the right size bit.
Basically, it wasn't made to be taken apart and messed with, but if you know what you are doing, it can easily be done.

@Stephenj37826 is there anything in between the qb and the cooling plate?

I have read in some other threads the rspec run 4000k and others claim its 3500k do you know which one it actually is?
