Have you tried ebay? It might be easier to get rid of there.

That's a good driver, but I bet it would be way easier to get rid of on ebay.

I may be interested as well. I think that is a great idea, I do not want to do business here but if you post them on ebay and link it to here then any of us can buy them and you'd never know it was us

Edited to add, sorry if this is the wrong spot to ask but where is the cheapest place to buy these right now? I am gonna need quite a few here soon?.

Thanks my friend. The last place looks pretty high compared to the others. I am new to this whole LED game and just figuring out what I need to do my build. Looks like the average price is around $60-70?

I am wanting to run a bunch of CXB3070 ADs at 1050ma. I am learning a little more every night on here but am getting to the point where I need to just ask some more questions. I want the most efficient driver I can get which looks like meanwell (I don't know any other brands at all?). I have seen how some you can dim and some you can't, but don't know how that works and what models have this.

Still have no idea on what heatsinks to use and if I will need reflectors/lenses. I am covering a large area with a lot of watts. For heatsinks it looks almost as cheap to get a bunch of Alpine 11 plus heatsinks, the only negative I can see is having to use a fan for every single COB this way (will end up being a shit ton of fans when I am done). I would rather have bigger heatsinks and fewer fans but don't know how to make it work yet. I am wanting to spread out the light instead of putting them close together. My plan is to put each cob about 8-10" apart both length and width wise. So each 24" or 30" square will have 9 cobs on it. It just looks extra expensive to get 3 lengths of 24-30" long heatsink for each 9 cobs compared to the Apline 11s at $10. But then again maybe I am looking at the wrong sizes I am too new to all of this and trying to figure it all out before I order next week.

Check out lsdpower.com, I am about to get a few of their drivers.

Very efficient and tons of options. I have had a pretty good experience with their customer service so far also.

I remember taking a look at them but couldn't find anyone using them or even what their prices are. Are the prices listed anywhere, and how can one go about ordering?

Thanks for taking the time, I appreciate it!

They don't have prices listed anywhere from what I can see. I sent an email to [email protected] (listed on the contact us page) and he got back to me pretty quick.

The outdoor drivers are about half the price of the equivalent meanwell driver.

$31 for the 200w

$29 for the 150w

$27 for the 100w

I also got a 10w driver for $2.50 for another small project. Shipping might be a little steep though. I am looking forward to my samples

Those prices do look very entertaining, from looking those are the ones that have 89-90% efficiency? Do you know how much the 93-94% efficient dimmable ones are? I don't know how much of a difference it makes but I am trying to get as efficient as possible. That is why I am wanting to run the cxb3070ad at 1050 for 51% on the cob. I don't know how the driver impacts that.

I can't imagine they are much more then the non-dimmable ones. Shoot Todd an e-mail and I'm sure he will give you the low-down ;)

Do you know if anyone has bought and received one yet? If not since it looks like you ordered I guess I can wait and hear your report. But will do, I will let everyone know what I find out as well.

I'm sure far more experienced than me will help, my latest light (and thinking) is that if you can run even lower, .7a/.5a you can almost run passive with relatively cheap heatsink and some room air movement. I used $8 /6" stars per cob, they got warm with still air to a point,,, but cool with just minor airflow. A bit unconventional, seems fine. Most others seem to choose the wider channel heatsinks (youv'e mentioned) with a central fan to a number of cobs. There's as many ways to configure as members here it seems. Ways to determine optimum h/s size (youv'e proabably seen Supras threads) My first light was on heatsinkusa h/s probably not a lot of savings depending on freight. I'd pay far more for the Alpine coolers where I am, and yeah lotsa fans but you'd only need two angle channel lengths to bolt them together, easy and a bit more manageable than that many separate cobs.

If you can front the $ for 9 cobs in a 2' /2.5" square you could run lower current, .7a? probably still overkill in that space. I have .7 x 6 cobs intended for around that space pulls 172w...

Thanks for taking the time to help. I have thought about running at .7 before and still may do so, but I am sort of on a budget and need to get as many done as possible this month before the heat picks up and only have so much I can spend. All together it isn't just going to be the 1 2.5 square, I plan on building 8 of those with 18 cobs replacing ever 1k I have. But instead of making the 18 cobs all connected I want to make 2 separate boards for each light replaced so it will help me position them a little better in the room. The room is 5.5 ft wide and 11-12 ft long. So I figure about 2.5 ft squared per panel would fill in the room nice and not give me many gaps. And with the total wattage at 2628 that equals around 40 watt per square foot with LED. I know it may be overkill but I like the buds that are produced with the higher light power and only have that much room to work with for now so I am making the most of it.

For heatsinks I would love to buy 3 30" strips of heatsink and make them all 10" seperate for a total of 30" long and 30" wide, having something connecting them together at the 10" away width. Then I could put a central fan on each of them and have just 1 fan per every 3 cobs. I do not know if this would work but I hope I can make it work without costing an arm. The question is how big of a heatsink do I actually need in this situation. Looking at heatsinks on Heatsinksusa I would like to go with something like their 2" or 3.5" or 4.85, pretty much anything around $1 per inch or less as that makes them about equal in price to the Alpine 11 at $10 each. I wouldn't care to go with the 4.6" if I had to and pay twice as much, I just don't think I will need that much heatsink if I am running 30" of heasink per every 3 3070 at 1050 and put 1 fan in the middle of every strip. I don't mind actively cooling it is just the thought of having 72 fans going in the room seems overkill for me (how many cobs I plan to end up with). I just don't know how many watts each fan from alpine 11's would use.

Copy what some of the other guys have done around here, take a 10x20 heatsink and slap 8 cobs, powered by 2 drivers with 1 big fan on it, I am building a panel like that now and will test it before building a whole room. I'm toying with the idea of having these panels on light movers for a 10x12 space.

I'd love to do something like that, it just worries me having that small of an area for the lights to be mounted. I am worried it wouldn't cover as evenly as it should. I could be wrong, but from what I have read it works best to spread the LEDs out. For example covering my 33" x 33" area I plan on building the light assembly itself 30" x 30" with cobs on each edge and in between so I get good light coverage. If it was all cobs in that 10x20" space I would be worried the light wouldn't spread out into the canopy as well as it could. Am I completely wrong in thinking this?

I don't mind buying 3 30" sections of heatsink and combining them together somehow with space between each to make the total space 30"30" or even 24"x24". I just need to figure out what size heatsink will work for me. Since for every 24-30" space I will have 3 cobs, 2 of which will be mounted on the ends and 1 cob in the middle, I need to figure out what size will let me stay at a good temperature just running 1 fan in the middle of each 24-30" section. I Have a feeling even the smallest heatsink would let me get by but I could be wrong and am really eyeing the 3.5" width heatsink that they offer.
