hit a problem and need some ideas...

Ok, so I got a couple free reg seeds of DNA genetics LA Confidential, and so far 1 is male...I would love love love for the other to be female, but we'll have to wait and see...but in the mean time I don't want to throw out the male I have til I get some pollen...but I only have the one flowering tent and I can't very well put that LA male in with my C-13 Haze, Super Lemon Haze, and Rocklock...so the male has to be kept on 12/12 to make pollen yes? Where in god's name can I put it? Or should I let it pollinate this crop and just see how it all turns out. I am not afraid of seeds...I am afraid of crappy random mixed genetics, so I don't necessarily want to throw that LA pollen all over everything else I already have, but I do want to try to breed some more LAs especially because this male in question is just beautiful! Dark green, lush growth, super thick stems...and I have finally dialed in my timing for my perpetual grow so even if we can't figure out a way to keep this male going safely away from the other plants it won't be too big a deal...I mean I can just keep the following harvest seed free...since I will already have my pollen...all other seeds are fems so no worries after this, bit I really want to make some more LA seeds, Ideally I should have started both seeds at the same time, but I already have more plants than I have room for, then again I could keep this pollen for nothing if the next plant ends up being male too...hadn't even thought of that...anyway cross that bridge when I come to it...Here is my idea...could I not just stick the fellow inside of a box with just a regular CFL for a few weeks and that would work? I just want that damn pollen...lol. So anyone with any ghetto flower space ideas let me know...Any advice and what not...

as far as i know if you keep it within so many feet of your grow you may as well keep it in there. pollen gets on everything as you go in and out of the flower room. have to keep it far away...lol

A card board box with a small fan and some holes for venting a cfl or 2 and a blanket to go over it in dark cycle. Handle it after going and doing what you need to in the main grow area. And keep it far far away from the rest.

I like it too. I don't wanna spend a bunch of money for a male plant...now in February or March Imma get another tent, my flower area is in a tent in my closet...like we took the doors off the closet and squeezed the tent in there...So I want to get another tent or 2...lol. One for veg, and I would love to have a really small space for extras I end up with not knowing where to put them...like now. If I had a small tent I could just use it as the male tent...

i would not do it. pollen will be everywhere. i worked in controlled environments for many years. you would be amazed how easy it is to contaminate. :peace:

why don't you take the tent out of the closet and put male in the closet. Put your tent in a better spot and you will have two flower rooms that you can put on a flip flop cycle.

Well the closet lost it's doors long ago because they were crappy and I prefer open shelving...and there is another closet on the other side of the room that is the same...it is more like the closets are just the only space for the tents...so I use the tents to turn my closets into grow closets...lol...my closets aren't really closets at all...or that would definitely work...

bkb's advice is good. But indeed watch out for accidental cross polination. If nothing else you'll still not be able to be sure what seeds came from what. And it is true that males will usually flower with longer daylight hours. Males often show and bloom out long before the females anyway. If poss. put the a makeshift cardboard box bk describes in a garage or storage shed outside the house. And I wouldn't go from visiting that box straight to your flowering tents when making your rounds.
