Hijack - Auto Seeds CFL/T5 Grow

So it took me about 20-25mins to get the ballast remote and out of the box. And here's the end result
It was quite easy to do just had to switch two cables, run a longer cable from the socket to the ballast and here we go.

you should be fine man, just with any new changes to your enviorment you want to make them at a time when you can keep a close eye on them for a couple days so if you work mon-fri i suggest doing it on a friday evening when you will be home for the weekend, this way if anything does go wrong your right there to correct the issue. if the reflector was made for CFL it may have some paint or something that is designed to withstand the heat from a CFL but not a HID....chances are it will be fine but no sense in risking a fire or killing your plants, so just do it when you will be around to monitor them

I'll be home till friday so if any thing goes wrong I'm there to fix it.
I was freaking thinking about the same thing, that hood has some white paint on it, I'll have to keep an eye on that because I know the hood will get hot from that bulb.
I'm keeping eye on everything lol I don't like to play with electricity but what has to be done it has to be done lol.
But I'm kinda proud of my self for doing this project hehe.

Hey Dan so you'll be using your tent for veging and the cab for flowering? You said going into the tent with some proper light, are you getting some different lights or you sticking to the t5's and cfls?

Post some pictures of your harvest if you want to, I would like to see that Polar Express

im interested in seeing the Auto seeds Mig 29, i was interested in that strain as well.

hey acid jesus, did any of your pistols turn orange early? i think some of the tips of mine are kinda darker than the other white ones. ill be keeping an eye on them but i dont think its a problem?

As for the pistils turning orange early that's normal buddy, no worries.
And to answer your questions yes they did, I already got some orange pistils here and there, so like I said no worries it's normal.

And how is that HiJack and DDR of yours doing? Hope all is good.

Yep thats what Im thinking. Its so I can do my autos in the tent the whole time and then the photo as an extra plant so itll go to the cab (if I was more patient it would be photos in the tent and autos in the cab or actually if I was more patient I wouldnt be doing autos at all right now). And with this set up Ill be able to switch and start in the cab then tent if I want to at some point. But yeah right now tent then cab for the cheese candy.

I have a 2ft PL 55 tek light 2 lamp (10,000 lumen) at 6000k, 6400k, or 6500k dont remember one of those grow spectrum. Right now Ive also got one of my 35 watt 2400 lumen clfs up at 2700k. Then since my two beans are almost ready to go in soil so Ill be putting the 2ft 4000 lumen t5 2 lamp light with its grow lamps for those seedlings then stick in cfls for supplementary lighting as I need it and switch spectrums as appropriate.

I would if I had a camera. So youll have to see my words instead. whole bud: Its light green with a little yellow tint. I quick dried a few tiny buds and tried it last night. It needs more time to develop taste .....no surprise since I force dried it and all but it breaks up to be bright green with a few scattered dark green bits of flower and part of the smell reminds me of hash plant & super silver haze cross with yeasty notes at the end.

Grape ill let you know how my mig 29 goes its a day over a month today and showed its first pistils at 3.5 weeks.

Thanks acidjesus, things are going good. On the Hijack i noticed a tad bit of yellowing/browning at the tips of some of the newer leaves, so im adjusting my feeding schedule and laying off a bit on the nutes.

the hijack has some nice bud sites forming and is getting covered in white pistols. the sativa genes are definitly showing, a little lenky but judging by your pics she should fill out a bit. the DDR seems to have stopped verticle grown and is now producing more pistols everytime i look at her. still no smell for the DDR yet.

Dan, I think for two plants you should be fine with those lights, my first grow I was using 2x125w cfls on top of my plants and a 2'x4 T5 panel for side lightning and for my first grow ever I think I did just fines.
So you too should be good to grow two plants, and in time you can always invest in some better lightning.

Dan you can get a cheap ass camera for like $25 we need some pictures here

Grape that DDR starting to look delicious I think we got the same pheno of the HiJack because she looks just like mine so get ready for some nice filling out of the bud sites.
Mazar also looks nice and healthy, can wait and see how she grows.

My HiJack picked up on the smell, it started smelling more like a weed then wet hay lol it's mixed smell citrus with some diesel fuel I might be wrong to that's how it smells to me lol

you think? why do you say that? the lighting makes the leaves look really dark. in person they are dark green, but too me they look like a healthy dark green.

Im all ears though, the DDR has been the runt of the group. not sure if its genetics or problems. i do think i had some issues with watering when it was younger, (crispy leaves, dropping, etc) that seemed to correct them selves.

So here are the pictures of that AKR sorry for the pictures Matt but the light was already on and the AKR is in the back so I would have to take out the other two but can't do it right now because my son is in the next room.
1st she was veged under cfl's for only like don't know how long but no longer then 2 weeks then she was under the hps, she looks a bit stretched to you? then she was transplanted because I had her in a pot with soil packed as hard as a rock, and now her leafs look like they're over watered or something but here the fucked up thing, I checked the pot and it was dry so baam I give her some water and now she looks like she's over watered, the soil she's in also feels kinda wet I think more then it should be lol, so don't know. But Thank you Matt as always.

looks fine to me to be honest, i wouldnt chop it down. it does look a bit sativa dam so it might take a bit longer to pack on the buds. maybe its too close to the light and getting too hot? have you thought about doing a small amount of LST to drop the height down a bit? not sure if you have the room for that or not.

it definatly does look stretched but that could just be genetics, it may or may not still produce a good yeild but it will produce good herb. you have come this far with it and sunk money into growing it i would keep it arpound for a few more weeks see if it turns out alright, other than that it looks to be healthy, it may just not take to watering like the other plants do, have you tried just letting it dry out till it starts wilting a bit then water it? i had some plants i could let go for 3 weeks without waterning. the plant will definatly tell you its thirsty and it is un mistakable, when you see the thirst wilt water right away and BAM within an hour the wilt is gone. i guess thats what i would do but im definatly no pro

It might be the temps, past three days we had a "heat wave" and it was like 78F outside so in the box was like 93F-96F but it never went over 100.

Her whole structure is looking week, she might be a late bloomer will see and the stress from transplanting her (I lost some root mass, not a lot but I did)
I'll keep her around, yeah I think you rite with letting her go and dry out a bit, I know when the HiJack needs water, I did let her go 2 days with out water and she was wilting like an old grandma (no offence people) and with in like 45min to an 1hr she was rite back up when she got her water.

So for this one I'll try and hold up on that water and let her dry a bit and will see what comes up next, I know I got to water the HiJack every other day if it's hotter, then every day.

I moved the light a bit up so it's 13" above the highest bud, and the temps at that point are 81F with the lights on and 20% (I know it's a bit low) but they drop down to about 64F that's a bit of a drop lol so I think I'll hook up the fan that's cooling the light up to the timer so it will run with the light's on only and leave the other two running 24/7 for air circulation.

man i got more bud than i know what to do with right now i dont really smoke i just grow for my wife and as a hobby and to try and make a little return but right now no one seems to want anything (no tthat im a big time dealer or anything just sell to a couple of friends for a fair price) just harvested 4 Oz and have been making edibles

I also have that Fruit auto in the box, I have a 23W 6500k above her with a diy hood made out of ice-t can for veging, but don't know if that's enough of light for one auto plant just for veging, first signs of pistils and the 23w is going bye bye, if I have to I'll just get the 125w in there, I don't want her to stretch so that's why I'm keeping her under 6500k.
I noticed one thing on the side with the 6500k light the HiJack's buds have more sugar on them same with the leafs so every day I turned the pot 1/4 turn lol.
