400w 12-15ounces, 600w 18-22 ounces and thats using 4 plants in 10 litre pots, vegged for a couple of months, well thats what im getting...and thats dry aswell...
Thanks for that info, I am planning to start flowering 4 plants in 2.5 gallon pots in a few weeks under 600w HPS.

Personally I'm aiming low at 25 - 30% (or .25 - .30), that will be more than enough for my wife and I...and maybe a few friends, but if I get anywhere close to those numbers I'd be real happy

Yes, I have 2 Jack Herers from seed going right now, there are 3 other mystery seeds from my collective, one of them is growing identical to the Jacks so I'm guessing I might have 3. One looks like an indica, I have no idea what the other one could be. There is also a 16" G13 clone which I took 2 babies from to clone, if they root in the next 10 days I'm going to flower her and veg the babies.

I'd be more than happy with 30%, all my strains are sativa's except for one so I know it's gonna be a while before I'm smoking them

I got that Cole Train and Rocklock freebie from Attitude, should be here in a few days. I also ordered some South African Kwazulu, Blackjack, and Amnesia. My budtender carries Amnesia right now, I'll probably get a gram tomorrow and see what I'm expecting :D

Do you have a grow thread? PM me the link

Yup, San Diego, California.

My grow link is in my sig, drop by with the link to your journal when it's up

I would say a good measurement is gram per watt per square foot/meter. That way you know if you use 400W on a plant taking 1 square meter, it's always going to be the same. Having that in mind, I've seen 0.8 is a good figure.

And i would say a good measure for gpw is taking your flower lights say 1000, and however many grams you pull from 1000 watts of bulb you put that against your ToTaL say 984 grams.....then youd be at .98 gpw. :):):)

I wish i could still get away with growing them strains that easily put out 2+ Per light. Unfortunately, those type of strains just don't cut it anymore. I'm happy getting 1.5 from og's or cookies or purple type strains.

My flower room is always on
12/12. I know plenty people who rock a smaller setup, and use the flower room for veg, for a week or two at the beginning of every crop. The extra week or two with them 1000w's + space before flower ensures they usually get a better yield. But can they squirt out as many crops as me in a year? NO! So, its not really a fair comparison. GPW should include veg time watts used also. Than, we would all be on the same page

Great post man for sure. Have you ever had any cuts of sour d or blue dream that cut it and easily yielded 2+ per light? I have a sour d that's dank and I ran 1 sour d & a couple other strains under a 1000 watt in. 5 gallon containers and the sour d yielded 1/2 p. I'm running a whole 4x8 table now and they are all much healthier and I was able to fit 20 on the table that are bigger than the one yielding 1/2 P. I'm hoping I can hit 1/2 P each plant. Would be ridiculous but I can't see why it wouldn't since better conditions such as side lighting and much healthier plants staying greener. But at the same time, 5 P's per light seems completely unrealistic, right?
What am I missing here in my thought process?

Can't remember if I've hit 2+ with straight sour d because I really have not grown it that much. I have pulled those numbers with a supersourD though. And of course I have with bluedream. But everyone grows bluedream, so I stopped growing the BD indoor around 6 yrs ago because of that. i was still growing it outdoor though up until a couple years ago;-)

No way on the 5 P's dude.
Your missing space per plant in your thought process. Give a plant more space it will yield more. Give that same plant less space, it will yield less, all else being the same. Know what i'm sayin?
Nowadays though, I've converted most of my setups over to DE's ran at 1150w's. Holy shit, does it change GPW(no matter how you figure it). Here's why:
I've always lit up a 4x4 tray with a traditional 1000w. Still do, and lately for example I dam near hit 2lb's(getting better every crop)with the GG#4 using a traditional 1000w hps.
I light up 3-4x4's with only two DE's, or 1 light over a 4'x6' area. Each one of the 4x4's is pulling 2lb's(more on this last crop I pulled), but I'm only using 766 watts per 4x4. :hump:
Fucking bad ass
