High vs stoned strains

Not sure if this right part of forum to seek help but I will give it a shot. I notice that most the strains now a days are very good at getting me “stoned”. But haven’t had any really get me “high” in a long time. I know it sounds dumb but only way I can describe the feeling. So I went down a rabbit hole and thought maybe I should be growing sativas dominate strains and that should help. So I almost bought a couple pack when I randomly stumbled on article and Reddit posts talking about no real difference between indica and sativa effects other then a slightly more Myrcene in indica.

I was just curious about anyone else experience. Just trying to learn? Trying to find that “high” again something that makes music sound different lol. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you talking about a mellow vs more energetic feeling? Sativas are more energetic. And indicas are more mellow if you let them fully mature. At least that's how I describe it.

I notice a difference, as does my wife. It all subjective anyway. Strains that make me humming bird from task to task make my wife shut down and vice versa.
Thanks for feedback. I guess your right it’s not one size fits all. Have to keep growing and searching. Thanks.

Get some sativas from ace or fdm and you gonna be looking at your ceiling for a whole night.

Turnspit genetics just released celia bx, an old oldtimer1 clone only line. Restock soon on uk420
This is what gszz got to say about this drop.

Celia x Smile

In loving memory of Oldtimer1.

An incredibly rare treat, straight out of the Oldtimer1 cookbook. For serious growers & smokers only!

Celia is an Oldtimer1 clone-only mother line, and mother to the much revered seed line Smile. Celia started life as a Haze x Skunk called HL (Or in the words of ot1 "Was it HD?"), the genetics of which come from a time that predates their introduction to Holland, and from a time when the handle meant what they did, rather than a particular type. A later cross by Mr Soul, made using a brother to the infamous Princess (but was never marketed, as it grew too tall) was used to pollinate HL creating what we know as Celia. Oldtimer1 crossed Celia to Camden Poison, a squat fast flowering indica dominant hybrid variety bred in North London, and released Smile in 2008 to much acclaim amongst UK growers.

Coming with a soaring sativa high like all Oldtimer1 releases what makes Celia and her daughters so special are their motivational, energetic highs the likes of which are not readily found in available cannabis genetics. Complex and coming on like a rollercoaster, Celia and her daughters will make your heart beat and your palms sweat, the energy bubbling up inside you until it feels like its going to escape! If you haven't got a to-do list, and polished it off, you'll be writing one! Not the kind of thing you'll want to smoke before bed, unless you want to be up all night watching The Sopranos for the 15th time.

Smile was described as "prozac from seed" as it did what prozac ought to do, over the years it has become apparent that medicinal users who suffer from mental health issues like depression, anxiety, and cluster B and C disorders have found relief in this unique quality of high. Upon progeny testing it became apparent that this alleviating quality was dominant in all of the individuals.

Aromas range from spicey and musky, all the way through to tropical fruits like papaya, mangos and everything in-between.
Flowering time is 10 weeks, +/- 1 week
Stretch ranges from 100 - 300%.

This back cross is the first step in multiple projects and is available to honor the life of Oldtimer1.

Priced at £80 per pack of 12 seeds HERE - all proceeds are to be donated to UK420.

I wish I could get different highs man. I’m not even trying to sound experienced, there’s old heads who’ve smoked over 50 years. But after a decade, fifteen years of smoking…. I don’t get those “traits” from smoking anymore. A particular strain doesn’t, “make my pain go away” or “give me munchies” to me it’s all just weed man. It does what it does for me and it doesn’t really change much…

Most strains are all hybrids now, so they've got a little of each. But I can usually still tell the difference even though I haven't been sober in over a decade.

Is it a problem when you smoke it just to feel normal?

I started smoking in '74 and while there weren't umpteen different "strains" I do remember the effects being much more varied . Maybe I've just smoked too many stains and too much weed all together...

it's our body's chemistry. We will never perceive weed like we did back then in the Golden era.

There definitely is a difference. Smoke an African Malawi sativa one day and then smoke a Mazar I Sharif indica the next. Guaranteed you'll be able to tell the difference. It doesn't matter what some article on reddit said.

Ultimately THC levels make that difference imo. I used to remember getting that high feeling when I first smoked back in 90s. Creeping up, soaring head high, munchies and energy levels to make you want to watch a movie or play games. Rarely got that kind of stone since until I became a med patient and tried strains tested at 25% and 30%. Yeah they got me ripped again, massive munchies and wicked head high. FYI the 30% one is a Rare Dankness strain.
