Hidden Characteristics-Can Hidden Phenotypes "Randomly" Emerge in a Couple of Gene

Hello, I grow four different landraces and have named my favorite mother of each strain:

Chuc-Nu
A South-East Asian strain from the Dalat area of Vietnam. Two Californian Vietnam War veterans have told me it reminds them of home in the 70s, but younger people think it resembles the original Kali Mist of the early 90s. The high is focused and energizing, good for getting work done.

Chantico
A Mexian variety from north Sinaloa. I've been told by quite a few retirees over here that it is reminiscent of the original Haze of the late 70s, early 80s. The high is trippy but clear.

Unwaba
A South African plant, from the province of Mpumalanga. It is likely the landrace Durban Poison was developed from. The high is very uplifting, almost euphoric.

Tamara
A Malawi mother, from Nkhata Bay on the shores of Lake Malawi. It's basically Malawi Gold in looks and high. The high is a very long-lasting African Sativa high.

I'm happy with all four girls, and I plan on keeping them just as they are. They all have clear, uppety, cerebral, Sativa highs, with almost no couch-lock body stone - smoking too much gives visuals, if that's your thing, but personally, I'd rather stay functional.

However, I would like to start a breeding experiment with them, and get even more of three characteristics:

  1. A psychedelic high.
  2. A giggling high.
  3. A social, chatty high.
These three characteristics are in there to what I consider a weak degree, or maybe I'm just a perfectionist.

Do you guys think these three aspects are already in there in "hidden force"? Do I just need to combine a couple of the above and those characteristics will emerge stronger, and then I inbreed until it's stable? I'm kind of reluctant to add more genetics to my small garden.

Or am I missing genetics? Is there a fifth plant out there that is psychedelic, giggly, and chatty without a body stone, and I should go and get it?

I don't care so much about yield or looks, and I definitely don't want to add even a trace of couch-lock body stone.

Maybe it's just me that's not a giggly and talkative person, because I've seen friends double over in laughter from all four of them, especially the Chantico and the Chuc-Nu. Our maid, for example, was running around making piss-poor jokes while mopping on Chuc-Nu yesterday, and she was laughing to herself and being very chatty.

I am a bit lost in your questions.

If its about pheno types emerging then its possible. Even withing the same cuts i have seen diffrent generations of clones change down the line.
A note of this, was a friend working with c99 and he had the same cut for a while, 3 generations of clones later that plant had no smell. The very first cuts were stinky.

For characteristics your looking for , you might need to breed something in to them to get what your looking for out.
not sure if that's anything close to what your thinking about, but I am sure that whatever you come up with will make someone happy, hopefully its you. Good luck with your adventures

Thank you, BBYY. My basic question was if it's worth breeding the genetic material I already have, or should I go traveling again to look for more seeds. I've discussed this elsewhere, and the option I will probably take is to stick with what I have - time is on my side.

As for your friend's C99, could it have been something else than genetics that changed? I have had identical clones where suddenly for example one of them cannot handle the same amount of nutrients as the others without burn. Once I made that particular plant share water solution with another clone, that other clone could no longer handle the nutrients either, which made me think there was a virus involved. Anyhow, I culled them and didn't see it happen again.

Well I don't know for sure why a clones genes would change, but if you reflect on nature, different plants will react to different environments.
If you take 4 cuttings, 2 at 82*F, 40%H, and 2 at 68*F 70%H They will react very different, and probly start to develop defenses, which would be carried with later generations of clones. So it would probably take longer than seeds, but it sounds reasonable to me.

You should take all 4 of your strains, and mix them into a F2+F2xF2+F2 Cross, and then stabilize it for the perfect balance of all 4 haha.
Unless this isn't your goal.

Interesting post. Have you considered inbreeding the plants? Inbreeding is a good way to force genetic variances to the surface. It's why we have so many pink and purple "designer" reptiles in the world now. And I'm referring to inbreeding in general, not feminization as a back cross.
