What is the optimum position for HID lights to be in. I have 2 400watts about a meter (3ft) above the plants. the plants have grown really big for the strain already, but should the lights be lower to the plants?

yes lower them. I have my hps about 16" off my plants. The best way to tell if it's to hot for your plants is to place your hand over the top of them and hold it there for a few minutes. If your hand gets to hot then it's to hot for your plants.

ok. we'll i'll lower them tonight when they shut off. i only have 3 weeks left to go for them so will be good for total yield

Just did it now. gonna get some easy hangers or something for them soon.
The plants are 2 foot tall and budding nicely. smells good too.

use chains. make it so you can pullon the chain to raise the lights as needed.
