52. I grew my first real plants when I was 14. We had a south facing sliding glass door in the basement. I took a large planter that my mom abandoned and planted a couple bag seeds. We're talking 1981 - seeds from a bag of weed in rural Michigan. It was narrow leaf sativa and grew long and lanky. They were about 4' tall when they started flowering. It was fall and the basement lights were always off so they just followed the natural daylight cycle and flowered.

I didn't know anything about flowering or light cycles. It would be about five more years before I understood that cannabis was a photo sensitive plant or even had the slightest understanding of what that really meant. Like a lot of people back in the day i learned from from reading the Ask Ed column and various articles in High times.

Yep I even have a phototron story...

OK Rob, here ya go if you put any light on your flowers while they are asleep the weed will go back into vegetation mode, and your buds will be wasted. Now with that you know all the rest.

Make sure you are aware if your state/city has homestead tax exemptions on property.
Yesterday I was headed home for lunch when a truck came along on the limestone road. It's kind of narrow in spots, so I pulled over to give him plenty of room. He pulled up beside me, rolled down the window and said, "I'm headed down to your new house. Are y'all claiming homestead on it this year?"

I turned around and went back down there to make sure he saw the tarps on the roof, that the barn was wrecked, and there was a section of deck that had been removed, but was still on the tax rolls. Last year the taxes were real low due to the hurricane wrecking everything.. Hope we still get a little of that love for this year.

The fucking taxes are out of control here.
House and land are paid off but the tax bill amounts to monthly rent when pro rated out.
All I want for that is to be left the Fuck alone and some days that is too much to ask for.
I want to dig for gold I own my mineral rights and will not be polluting any water source, yet some fucktards gotta come along and start getting in my bidness.
I would prefer them getting off my land but shit.........it seems I really just rent eh?

Sounds like they are Democrats, socialist from hell. You should move to W.Va. There is freedom here, no building codes, low taxes, you can shoot your gun all day long, land is about 500 to 1000 per acre. Nothing snoops around your place day or night, and if you shoot it you can eat it too.

Our taxes are low. My land is in ag, so that helps. Our taxes on the house and about 100 acres was $2K pre hurricane. Since all my land is in timber, the taxes went down. In fact my county is hurting for money because so much of the timber land has been wrecked, combined with all the schools and what not that were destroyed.

I have heard timber that cannot be harvested right away will be quickly infested with worms, So is it not salvageable? Sound like y'all have been though the meat grinder, sorry to hear it.

Thanks for the good thoughts. Yes, you have to get downed trees cut in a hurry. Pines will last 3-4 months for pulp wood, but anything you plan on as saw logs need to be cut and stored in a pond until you get it sawed. Pine dries out real fast.

Sister was able to get some of her hardwood cut right after the hurricane, but my hardwood was in the floodplain, and the river was up then. My pines were too wrecked to save anything. 95% of some stands were snapped. It would have done for chips, but the chip mill was off line due to the hurricane, so there was no market even for that.

Some of the young stuff will be alright, but the stands I lost were 20-30 years old. ie. close to harvest. I took a bath for sure. I still have to clear the land to plant it back in something ag so I can keep my exemptions. Lots of folks going back into pasture land as it's cheapest and easiest to plant.

"On Tuesday, March 24, Walmart will offer an hour of shopping for customers aged 60 and older at their stores nationwide.
It will be the first of several shopping events that will be set aside for senior customers during the COVID-19 outbreak.
The "senior shopping events" will take place from March 24 until April 28 and occur every Tuesday for an hour before stores officially open (usually at 6:00 am). Walmart says their pharmacies and vision centers will also be open during these special shopping hours."

If you can find anything of value food wise. Not much on the shelf's at my local Walmart's
No, last night they announced the Statewide stay at home order so it was cleaned out, the worst I've seen so far. Imagine another week or so for some normalcy to rtn. I didn't bother with Meijer or Kroger, probably the same.

Didnt even bother after work yesterday. The wife works at the hospital so she can go shopping at meijer from 6-8 am tomorrow (wed).

My job is non essential so I'm home for the next 3 weeks. I'll be spending it in the garden so no boredom for me.

Is that the first responder time? I was glad to see they offered that. Garden for me too if it warms up a tad. Just about time for them to putting out the plants.

I'm in a gated community, very small land but the complete tax and community charge (inc street lighting/cleaning/security guards) is $150/year.
There are some advantages to living in the 3rd world.

The first 3 weeks I used only water, then I started with 1/4 strength of what it says on the nutrient-bottle for about 2 weeks. After that I went up to 1/2 of what it says on the bottle for about 2 weeks and for the the last 1 week or so I give them 1/1 dose of what it says on the bottle. I feed them everytime, but maybe I should only give them water in between?

The coco I´m using is Gold labels Special mix light, I do believe it´s prepared properly. Heres a link: http://www.goldlabel.nl/88/Special-Mix-Light.aspx

Do you think that I should flush my plant, or is it to late in to flower to do that?
You burnt them dude ........ I'm growing in coco and have been using 1/4 strength nutes every day from the day the seed broke ground.
Plus a dash of Cal-mag once a week.
