Hi fellows,

I'm planning to do guerilla growing with autos, I am planning to plant seeds directly outside, so there is really big change them to be eaten, when they are so small. Problem is the snails or whoever are eating plants. Last year few seedling got fully eaten and few which almost died becouse they had very small amount of leaves.

I have read about using sand or egg shards, but I don't know if they are gonna work 100%, I can't allow more than 2 plant eaten this year.

Or could some kind of netting help me out?

What is your idea or have you had experiences with this? I'm ready to use everything even chemicals just to keep them away, but not when it is going affect seedlings.

Cheers,

Last year I had problems with ants eating my okra outsise. I laid down a ring of salt around the base about 8 inches from the stalk, worked great. Not sure if it would work on snails might be worth a try. Also I don't know what salt will do to your soil in the long run.
