Hey im only 19 so i still live with my parents. im trying to grow my first plant WHILE not having my parents find out. i had some mids that i finished smoking the other day and i saved all the seeds. i know i know they arent kush or anything amazing but hey this is my first plant. testing i suppose.

soo i have 2 plants 3 days old they are both in seperate flower bots pots that are around 6inches high and 8 inches wide. im using a 100w lightbulb 1 inch above the flower pots. (im getting more lighting when it gets a little bigger) im watering with miracle grow about 3 times a day from a spray bottle (1 or 2 squeezes or until i see its not dry about 2 inches from the top). when i am unable to have my light on or when its sunny out and i think it will get more light outside i put it out on my balcony (around 80 degrees during the day). so basically i started without any real info on how to grow besides like pictures of grow rooms from google. haha. i filled the flower pot about half way full with soil then put a seed then i put about 3 inches more of soil ontop. (i know i just found out about an hour ago that's a little too much ontop, trial and error) i have been watering them with miracle grow over the past 3 days and i just got my first glimpse at the plant. its still very small, around 1 inch high and i see a little yellowness on it. is this normal? or have i been watering too much? its too small to take a picture of right now but im wondering if this is a warning sign for over or underwatering. too much stress etc.

there are 2 very small bud leafs around 1/4inc long and they are yellow at the tips.

any kind of help with any part of my set up would be greatly appreciated.

sorry for the wall of text.

Drop the miracle grow. Dont water until the soil is dry. Use compact florescent lights. Get your hands on some professional grow videos such as jorge cervantes, SeeMoreBuds, I grow chronic. Watch them all 4 or 5 times. Educate yourself. Move out of your parents house.

dont know if by 100watt bulb, your reffering to a regualr incadesent bulb.. you know, the old style that you would use to light a dark room with.. if that's what you mean, get rid of it and go get a few of the cfl bulbs that are popular nowadays.. they are the spiral kind you see all over.. you want the 6500 k kind.. just read the package, it will say it some where..
secondly, stop feeding them with the m'g.. they are wayyyy too young for anykind of nutrients, and you will be doing more harm than good feeding them at this point in their young lives.. i usually like to wait till they are about three or four weeks old before i give them anykind of nutes..
thirdly.. at this young of an age, just take them into the bathroom and put them in the sink, and give them enough water till you see about ten percent or so running out the holes in the bottom of the pots..
this should keep you going for a couple of weeks like i've said.. and when you do start to feed them, only give about a quarter of what the bottle or whatever of nutes says to use, and slowly bring it up till you start to see slight signs of nute burn, than back it off some..
i would try and just leave them under the cfl bulbs for 24 hours a day if your not able to turn them off after 18, and keep them in the dark for six.. the 24 hours of light is better imo than possibly not turning them on and off at the same time everyday..
anymore ?;s, feel free to ask..

Sweet thanks. yeah i have a few of the spiral bulbs in my basement ill swap those out and add another light. im going to run to walmart tomorrow and buy a few things.
thanks for the help. ill keep posting on this thread as the days pass. so no miracle grow. better bulbs. and move out. got ya! lol.

the miracle grow is ok, just not for such young plants.. not the preffered nutrient line by a long shot, but i've seen people use it and have good grows..
i would just start off with a few of the cfl bulbs, and learn when to and how much to water your baby.. i forgot to mention that you only want to water when you put a finger in the soil it feels dry down about two inches or so.. you can also pick up the pots right after you water them, get a feel for how heavy they are, and every day or so pick them up and when they feel light, they need to be watered.. this needs a lil practice to get down, but is a very good method for telling when your plants are thirsty..

ahh ok. yeah these are my first plants. with a bunch of thrown together materials. this website is great for the first time grower. and the community is very helpful and fast in responses. ill probably buy the Indoor Marijuana Horticulture by jorge cervantes or his DVDs.
