Hey, Guys iam looking at going from soil to hydroponic so i was wourding if yall could let me know some info on hidroponics systems. This is the new system iam getting next week. Mini Caddy .... so check it out and let know what yall think. i was also wourding if yall could give me some help on this ive never tryed this before but this seems to look not so hard. so thanks for the help.

cool system. I have been growing with hydroponics for a couple of years now and would never go back to soil. For me there was a learning curve and I lost some plants as I was learning. I recommend starting with plants that you wont mind loosing in tell you get past you're learning curve. Just my opinion. Good Luck!

When I started out with hydro I had a tendency to burn my plants. Hydro nutes are powerful and even just a little bite can burn the plants really bad setting your grow back weeks or even killing the plants. I followed the directions that came with the nutes that I bought General Hydroponics and It was to much to soon for my plants. Invest in a ppm meter and start off low at like 200 ppm and gradually increase the nutes as the plant adjust. Also I've always built my own hydro system from scratch which you are not doing which will put you way ahead of my learning curve. You can just concentrate on your plants. the 2 biggest factors to look out for are the ppm of your nute solution and the ph level get those right and hydro kicks ass!

just thought i'd butt in....i own a cool cab , the big deluxe model sunlight sheds makes and i'll say this, they dont mess around when it comes to being a comprehensive system....truely a turn key unit and the mini cool cab and mini caddy and full size caddy are the same all wonderfull....until!

until what you say? well until you learn all the fun crap there is to know 'bout growin that there reefer! well not all but you get the gist.

i9 bought the cool cab and co2 boost and 2500 bucks later i spent another 3500 bucks to completely outfit a grow room just like albfucts s.o.g. system. and now i use the damn cool cab as a helluva nice bud dryer! sucks huh? the only reason was harvest times and transplanting limitations. when you see the hoily shit root ball mass under that drip lid your gonna shit. impossible to untangle so your forced to wait until you harvest then start all over...fuck that i'll grow outside if its gotta be like that ya know? so now i gutted the cool cab and all that's in it are the 2 muffin fans in the bottom and the exhaust fan w/carbon filter up top. the cloning shelf , wich sucks just a lil bit is now a book shelf for my journal and magazines. but if your patient and not in it for $ then it's an awesome system....just follow the guide they give you about the nutes and you'll be fine. if i can help hit me up! i wish someone would have helped me out a lil bit when i first got mine. good luck

yeah iam not really in it for the money would like a little but not a big deal mostley just in it for my self to save money in the long run i used to do soil but thats to messey inside so iam going with water now do you think that there might be a way to put deviders in it to keep them from joining at the roots just courious. if not oh well but yeah trust me i will probley hit me up... i was wourding if you have ever used the fog set up that it comes with or what does it actually do could you explain how the water gets to the roots ...thanks for the help

the dividers would help with tangling but would cause problems with nutrient dispersion and might block a lot of the fog and could mess with water levels under some plants.

yes i used the fogger and it is wonderful it ultrasonically breaks down the water and nutes to a ??micron ??ppm fog wich the roots suck up readily and explode with growth.

and the water doesnt get to the roots the roots are submerged in the water as it is a dwc set up (deep water culture), coming from soil it might make you say no way but they use an air stone to oxygenate the water so the roots dont drown and lemme tell you they love it.

Great post, I could have written this myself, lol. I have the cool cab as well. It came with everything you need but the seeds. After each grow I modified the cabinet. One grow I had to remove the shelf cause I vegged too long and they outgrow the bottom, lol. I got a new tub with less holes to hold less plants, new pumps and such. I also switched to clear nutes to avoid the clogging of the lines. Live and learn with each grow soil or hydro that is. I do both and find the hydro is easy, no mess around system. Expensive yes, and could you build you own, yes. But if you want it all together ready to set up, the cool cab or caddy you are looking at it a good idea. Good luck. :mrgreen::peace:

that is so funny i did much of the same, that darn cloning shelf was in the way of the 14 i tried to grow...lol and amen to the nute clogging but it didnt hit me until flowering and it snuck up on me just when i thought i had it all figured out... lol. and you nailed it with the expensive part but i say it was worth it to me...i learned sooooo much and would have never included all the things that came with it. i think it's like a head start on growing for beginners and intermediate growers. i'm just greedy and found i needed to go another route but i will always love my cool cab strangely enough.

It is great for drying in though eh? I was able to string some twine across it inside and hung the buds on it. It did dry a bit quick tough, maybe too fast in some cases. I found if I hung the entire branch it was better instead of individual buds. Like I said, learn with each grow. It is an never ending learing experience, grow with it. And the info here is amazing too, lol. :mrgreen::peace:

you can get them from any hydro supplier that sells general hydroponics wich is the brand that comes with the cabs.
they send you the flora nova series wich is organic nutrients for a hydroponic system, they are really thick, that's all.

I use DNF (Dutch Nutrient Formula) and Optimum now and you can either order it online or your local hydro store. WHen you get it, they usually come in a kit with an A&B, fortifier etc. :mrgreen::peace:

see the problem is i dont have a hydro store around here so its all go to come off the web... so does it come with every thing that i would need and yes iam getting the CO2 boost... but i was wourding did it fit in there to or did you have to run a hose it there and if so how did you do it and where did you get it at cuse i cant find it ...thanks for all the help...

the co2 boost is small and comes with the hose and you run it into the back of the cab and yes all that stuff is tiny and comes in it assembled and ready to grow!
with very little set up on your part.

sunlightsheds.com are the makers of these products and i ordered mine from them and it's all included. i see your getting yours from someone else so??? if it dont come with it all exactly and the price is comprable then buy from sunlight!
