What in the world is it like In Colorado and Washington now?

Anyone care to spin a yarn (tell a story) about life in the Free-States?

So what is happening?

The pricing here is falling. I get OUNCES of decent Medical for $100-$120 with my Red Card. Right now, you cannot legally buy marijuana without being a medical marijuana patient, there are no retail stores yet. There are people asking for donations (not selling) on Craigslist that will deliver WITHOUT a Red Card, $20-$25 an 1/8th. Also, getting clones without a red card is tough, unless you know a grower. I think a red card holder can buy them for you and them GIVE them to you, that appears to be legal. It can also be done on Craigslist, people are selling clones with a picture ID 21+. For the most part, the police were already pretty mellow on marijuana here, we have a great Medical Marijuana System.

The cool thing about Amendment 64 in Colorado is the Home Grow provision, but if you read the article above, you can see they are trying to limit that BEYOND what the Amendment stated.

It is taking some getting used to, attitudes have pretty much changed here. For those that haven't been enlightened, its too late, the cat is out of the proverbial bag.

In WA. you can now legally have up to 1 oz. The rules for producer, processor, and retailer are still being written. 502 won't be in full effect until Dec. 1, 2013.

I-502 initial draft rules have been issued http://liq.wa.gov/marijuana/initial-draft-rules. Final rules come out first week of July (were supposed to be out right around now, but a last minute flood of responses to public comment caused them to delay final rules issue for 2 weeks). Same with applications and license issue, were scheduled for 9/1 and 12/1, but have also been pushed back 2 weeks, as I understand it. Don't quote me on the last part. I've put a good chunk of savings in the last month getting my shit in order so it's ready to go. Soon I'll be cashing in my 401k and I'll be balls in! HANG in there, summer will be the start to something very special! CHANGE IS COMING!!!

Really? Only 6 plants? That depresses me.

I'd be bugging my non-smoking neighbors to grow their plants.

When I wake in the mornings, before I even toke up, I smell something special in the air. Freedom. Sweet freedom knowing that early next year I'll be walking into one of the newly opened recreational weed shops and putting down cold hard cash for a little bag of sunshine.

Then I'm going to get in my car, go home, and smoke it.

Paranoia free and somewhat morally/socially justified for the first time in my life. It feels good to be living right now, on the cusp of something special. This will open up a lot of minds and push civilization forward in many ways.

I won't be worrying about street dealers, Mexican cartels, some guy I kind of know screwing me over, etc.

I'll also be able to buy it as needed when I get a stomach flu, or the many other ailments that happen to be solved quite well by a few tokes.

I'm hoping there will be brands/stores that specialize in types of mental highs, pain relief, and whatever. Better choices and better quality through marketplace demand in a legal environment. People that don't know anything about weed will open their minds and think about it in new ways. You won't be able to stop opening minds.

I've been excited to break in to the "adult recreational market", as they call it, but after months of searching for a space that will qualify for a 502 grow, my team and I are realizing, no one wants to lease to growers. Unless you already own land or a wharehouse, or have $250,000-$500,000 to burn you are not going to be growing legally in Washington

Do what I did. Think outside the box! I'll tell you this, there is a website out there that is hooking potential growers up with potential investors. Recent DOJ announcement should put many investors that were on the fence in our side of the green pasture. I met the dudes running it while I was at Hempfest a few weeks ago. CannaMLS.com I think. But hopefully the people with property will also relax their rental "standards" with the DOJ announcement as well. Keep trying. We didn't get this start at freedom by giving up!
