Hermis found... is the rest of plant safe to keep blooming?

Hey guys, well I bought some Reservoir seeds sour diesel IBL seeds and have (had) 4 in bloom. I've been looking for any sign of males and it turns out tonight at 3.5 weeks in all 4 have started to hermi. One of them more than the others, one plant only has 1 sack starting to form.

I removed them all from my bloom room. Can I just chop off the branch of the one that only had one sack starting to form and finish blooming the rest of the plant?

I gotta comb these over and see if any actually opened real quick, it looked like one of the sacks may have cracked open but I didn't see any bananas at all.

I'll be back with pics. The one in my magnifying glass looks like it could just be a regular female but no hairs are sticking out of it... that one I'm not sure about at all... and that is the only sac that looks like that on that entire plant.

So do those look like the beginnings of balls to you guys? They sure don't look the same as the rest of the small nodes you sometimes get in those areas that end up sprouting hairs. These are sticking out on a small stem, I sure don't want to wait until I have some popped open, but at the same time.. it will blow to have to just toss em..

on the other hand I was thinking of dropping SD from my line up just based on the 77 day flowing time. so maybe my plants made the decision for me :)

can anyone confirm those look like the start of balls?

thanks!

You'll have a hell of a lot more male flowers forming soon. Gotta chop the plant, unfortunately.

And yes, those look like male flowers to me. :)

bummer. well better I caught them ahead of time. Thanks guys!

I've read some reports that sometimes the clones from plants that were started from seed don't have as bad of problem with hermis. You guys know anything about this? I mean I don't want to waist another second on this SD if later generations are just as likely to hermi as the original seeds I popped.

Man that stings, so much for rezdogs superior genetics.... 100% germinated and 100% that were flipped hermied on me.

If clones have less chance of herming it's only because the plant has been selected because it was worthy of keeping around. Male flowers, especially like that, are something no1 wants or keeps.

SD is an amazing strain, it's too bad those 200$ seeds are crap, I have heard plenty of horror stories when it comes to rez's gear. Youd figure at that price the product you get would be tested, homogenous and free of hermi taits but not everyone cares as long as they get the $ I guess.

Ok. I had read some posts left by some people that reported that though the plants from seed hermied on them the clones from those same plants didn't have hermi issues.

Yeah that is the part that stings, they were not cheap seeds, and I love sour diesel. I do have two more that I haven't flipped yet, I just took some clones off of them yesterday... maybe I'll just throw those two in the flowering room and hopefully one of them won't hermi then I'll keep the clones from the one that didn't.

I still have 2 Tangerine Dream plants I got from seed to flip, /crossing fingers.

I may never buy feminized seeds again if I don't end up with at least 1 keeper from 15 seeds.

I wanted to get back on here and make sure to correct myself.

after posting and talking with rezdog on his forums I learned the IBL line isn't a feminized line like I had thought, and the pollen sacs forming were most likely on plain ole male plants and not hermied feminized plants. I wanted to make sure I got that out there... it's most likely just a high male to female ratio in the seed bag.

I have two more plants and one did stay more bushy in veg so hopefully that one is a female.. I'll update later.

EDIT: after further discussion now more are thinking hermi since all the plants had hairs up unti 3 weeks into bloom. (sorry noob to seeds and hermi guy here). No cause has been determined, no light leaks etc.
