**hermies**wtf**

I've been seeing alot of threads concerning hermies...and after growing off and on for over 30 years I am just scratching my head.

People! Alot of it has to do with gentics. Nowadays, producing seeds means $$$. Greedy people do whatever it takes to produce seed as fast as possible with total disregard to proper breeding.

Get seeds from known breeders. They may cost a bit more, but will give you such a better product.

It just seems like there are so many threads about hermie lately. Every little mistake is fear of a hermie. I've had some horrific things happen over the years and never once a hermie. I didnt get a hermie until I got some bogus seeds.

ive gotten one or 2 during my first couple grows way back when lol. but im sure it was because i was toying with them and watering and feeding schedules way too much.

WOW! I'm surprised this hermie thread hasnt gotten more than 1 poster. I guess everyone just wants to ask the question "will I get a hermie".

i just had to throw out 5 plants all hermies, it's my first grow so i wasn't going to buy online, though i am glad to say i just made my first seed purchase and am waiting for delivery. the only reason i would even use "bagseed" is because the experience gained was invauluable, including the fact i will never use lower quality seeds again.

Could you explain to me what a hermie is? Does it produce bud and pollen or something? And how are hermies created?

a hermie is a plant that has both sexes and no u dont want hermies because they can pollenate females

and yea they can make buds but with bags of pollen

Are there any ways to take advantage of hermies? I grow for personal use and I'd love to have seeds and buds.. Is there a way for me to get both?

I recently had an experience with hermies. It was Not genetics. It was a steady light leak during the dark cycle. It was basically a 1-2 inch wide bar of light on the floor of the tent coming through one of the vents. It reached across the tent, the plants that were receiving this very small amount of light were female plants, but grew 2-4 little tiny male flowers underneath the buds.

I agree, genetics are a lot to do with it in most cases, But steady stress and light leaks can cause plants to grow a few hermie flowers.

After 30 years of growing Im sure you never feel the need to check on your babies during dark cycles, and Im sure you've long since taken care of any light leaks.

Good posts BCtrippen.....oooh it STILL kills me not check them during dark cycles I try to time my lights to be off while I am at work so when I am home, I can look and care for them all I want.
I have only grown off and on over 30 years.....not steady bro or I'd be up there with the biggens like FDD

But yeah man...no light leaks here.

yes Just grow..... If You Like Seeds And buds, just your Let your babies Grow Wild, Dont pull Nothing Out, Only reason people Pull the Hermies Adn male Is Cuz They Want Seed Lees batch... And Male Are Slighty Milder Smoker... But Its All the Same, Just let Them grow.. IMO

You cant smoke males, they dont make buds, just clusters of pollen sacks. You can smoke the bud from hermies though, it can actually be really good shit! Just gotta pick through all them seeds.


Most people prefer seedless bud (sensimilla) because you get more weed, and if its for sales people dont want seed weed.

You really only need to seed a few plants once and you will have enough seeds for like 2 years.
