hermie or new growth ?

so i have a plant about 3-4 weeks into flowering and i have brown pistols as well. but i do not have the swollen sac that he has in his pics. im a novice grower and dont know if its possible to have brown hairs or if that is a good indicator of pollination. so is it? can there be brown pistols that early into flowering with out having it be pollinated? ill try to post a pic if that would help but not for a day or so.

at what stage is the female vulnerable? can pollinating one bud/flower affect the whole plant?

yes..........................
look for these yellow bannanas they are very small and a close inspection is reqd (the hide in between the buds).

so is it a given that a pollinated female will end up with male pollen sacs?

just trying to figure out if they're worth still growin'

those bananas are the pollen once the plant has 'hermed', and yes it can spread to other females..Sure you could grow it again, but if you have females around, you shouldn't.

You can still smoke the seed casing (calyx) just wait until its trichomes are peaking just like any other plant and have a big bag of calyxes. then you will have seeds as well.
