Hermaphrodite - why?

What happened???

Everything looked great at the last watering 2 days ago.
I took it out last night and found balls hanging everywhere!

I removed the plant immediately and continued working - pics are from a couple hours later.
There was a small amount of pollen on 2 leaves - REALLY hoping it didn't get to any of the other plants!
Definitely concerned for the remaining 6 girls!

No light leaks - no deficiency or burn - I just don't know ---- genetics?

Called the friend I got the seeds from - a mix of strains (sorting while stoned!), all f-2

Tent has no light leaks or other sources (interior pwr lights) - it's in a dark room and has thick blankets clipped to the exterior for additional light leak prevention.
Lights are 11.75 / 12.25 - extra 1/4 hour of dark
Minimal pruning - 2-4 leaves max - most are tucked to expose budsites.
Heat averages 74-82 f -- hot day spike to 85 recently.
RH is 58-71% (oscillates with light & watering sched.)
I'm in FFOF, top dressed with FFOF --- no nutes at all until last night (2 Tbsp Flower Girl).
the herm was discovered & removed while top dressing with FFOF / Flower Girl.

I'm leaning towards genetics. The plant still looks good - a bit smaller than average. Just a healthy, good looking herm...

The more ppl I've spoken to, the more I think plain ole genetics - so many branches were affected, but no signs or symptoms.
The remaining 6 plants received over an hour of no-touch inspection of each and every crotch on the plant with a flashlight - not as long last night, but I'm still keeping vigilant...

I forgot I left the herm in the garage until this morning.

Chopped & hung it for a butter run - should be enough for one stick / tub.

Great info!

I think I just got lax inspecting them for problems since they were all healthy.
Plenty of time for balls to grow big and drop into sight underneath the budsites of the lower branches.
Pretty sure no pollen wafted in the tent - I turned off the fans and bagged it before removal - one small spot on one leaf.

My takeaway from this:
Healthy plant? Don't screw with it -------- but don't stop inspecting it either! :wall:
