Flying Robots to Assist in Outdoor Marijuana Eradication

Printer Friendly Version Email this Article
Posted in Chronicle Blog by Scott Morgan on Thu, 04/03/2008 - 8:48pm Ever since I pointed out last week that the drug war will soon be fought mostly by robots, further examples have come pouring in. We're now well past the point at which anyone can plausibly deny the inevitability of a future in which drug war robots patrol the streets thrilling children, terrifying the elderly, and wreaking general havoc of epic distopian proportions. Skeptics will know I'm right when the lighter gets shot out of your hand with lasers every time you try to smoke some drugs.
Yeah, if I was wrong about anything, it was how soon my horrific predictions would come true:
The U.S. Forest Service has purchased a pair of flying drones to track down marijuana cultivators operating in remote California woodlands. Agriculture Undersecretary Mark Rey, who oversees the Forest Service, tells The Associated Press the pilotless aircraft will allow agency law enforcement officers to pinpoint marijuana fields and size up potential dangers before agents make arrests.
…
The SkySeer drones cost $100,000 each and weigh only four pounds. [AP]
Isn't that just the most ridiculous thing you've ever heard? F'ing robots flying around the woods trying to catch you growing weed? I predict that outdoor marijuana cultivation remains unaffected, but reported UFO sightings increase dramatically.
And the creepy thing about all this is that it was reported just one week after my initial expose on this topic. Could it be that the drug war geniuses are taking cues from my blog? Just in case, let me clarify that my point wasn't that it's a good idea for the drug warriors to build horrible robots, but simply that they are mad enough to do it. I guess I was right either way.

Wow haha thats some shit. But personally, id rather have a robot try n bust me for "drugs" rather than a police officer. Reason being id have no regret attacking/shooting a robot. A live police officer is another story.. Luckily i live in one of the two states in the US that still allow the sales of anti-tank weaponry :) So if any robots wanna fuk with me and my crop their gonna have to survive some serious fire power. Not saying i have said anti-tank weapons Yet, but i plan on making a purchase, hopefully sooner than latter!

This a totally unrelated question of course but does anyone know where one may be able to purchase lock on tracking missiles? Take those fuckers out just for the sheer fun of it.

This is getting out of hand.. drones to try and keep people from growing weed? Come on put your ass to better work instead of slacking out catching a couple of stoners that aren't doing any damage.

They are getting some drones with infa-red scanners down in Florida to spot indoor grow ops because law enforcement says it cost too much to put officers in their helicopters.

most states still allow for a 50 cal. rifle to be purchased, get a good scope and you can pull a smoking aces bit and blow that drone strait to robot hell

that wouldn't be a bad idea just give it a few month's until they start busting houses in Miami with drones and you will see the cubans on their roofs waiting with RPG's to blow the fuckers out the air.

The United States Supreme Court ruled that using IR technology without FIRST obtaining a search warrant constitutes an UNLAWFUL search!

KYLLO V. UNITED STATES

People busted this way need to start SUING law enforcement agencies! Time to turn the tables on these smarmy LEOs and start dragging them through high dollar law suits to put an end to this!

:peace:
