You guys might want to try ladybugs or predator mites. This way your herb won't taste like neem.

Neem doesn't last a long time. If you stopped using it about the time you start your final flush (last two weeks) it should be gone.

So I'm gonna collect pollen of my males to breed with my mother, can you use pollen from a hermie or is that not a good idea?

From what I've read, MJ is predisposed to being a hermie and it's not as bad as everyone on here makes it out to be. One of mine hermied but it's gonna get smoked anyway. It would be best (IMHO) to use the pollen of a good, totally hetero male plant rather than a trannie. :)

sounds good thats kinda what I was thinking since I have a good male anyways I'll just throw the hermi out, I was just wondering about the possibility of a hermie's pollen producing more female seeds, then by using a male, maybe I'll have to do an experiment

hi all. has anybody heard of mixing sugar with water and spraying all over the plant ive just tried it on a cutting it leaves a coating on the leaf
surely this will slow the process of the mites or even stop them i read it somewhere not too sure but i hope it doesent harm my clone, all i want is to make sure ive got the mites off before i put it in my growroom as i got mine from someone else with a mite problem.

never heard of that before let us know if it works, if you only got one clone, you can get this "stuff" i can't remmeber what it's called miticide i think, you just put some in a bucket with water and dip the whole plant if its small enough,

That brings up a good point,,, wondering if mites will drown,, like if I put the whole plant underwater for a period of time will the mites fall off and go to the top of the water or miticide?????????:peace:...............

ya well i my buddys swear by taking them down to the lake and duunking the whole plant washing all the dirt off and everything problem is it's hard to do with a plant thats bigger then you I'll get the name of that stuff next time i go to the garden store, you have to ask for it cause it's banned in canada but most guys sell it its about $40 but it's the only thing I've been told that actually wipes the little fucks out completly

what if i left it on the window ledge for 4-5 days if their were any left after i vaccuumd it and sprayed it wouldnt they die in those temperatures with nowhere else for them to go or would they just kill the clone as shes only a little thing any advice welcome as i dont want to lose it thanks ppl

the hardest thing about the mites is there eggs man thats why i vacuum mine it's just damn hard to get every single one. This is the whole problem right ya think ya got them wiped out but 1 survives of course a female and then all of a sudden your reinfested, like i said the only thing the hydro guys swear by is this miticide shit somebody's gotta know the name... I'll remember at some point, haha, the other thing that is supposed to work is to starve the plant cause mites feed on new growth and if there's no food they'll fuck off, more then likely into your grow room though, haha i don't know man i'd get some serious chemical shit asap before they spread there not much fun to deal with

go to a hardware or drug store and get "hot shot brand no pest strips" they got rid of the mites for me before . I was told you can never get rid of only control mites. thats not true and i have proof. i had two plants with spidermites. i tried sprays and dunking . they came back. i put the plants outside for a couple days. it was in the 40s (cold). put a no pest strip in my grow box . put plants back. that was in november i am now growing with clones from those plants and have 0 spidermites for 4 months. if youre in a large area use 2 strips . this method worked for me. good luck..

Get a soft toothbrush and gently brush the bottom side of the leaves. This will knock off the eggs. Make sure they fall somewhere besides your soil. Spray the bottom and top side of your leaves with neem. Then get a rag with a bleach/water solution and wipe down your grow area along with the outside of your pots.
