FEMA can't even organize their own people, how the fuck are they going to control a population?

What actions? The only thing they could do is have mandatory mentality tests and even then that won't be much effective, people just snap.

Just ban the assault kind that shoot lots and lots of those big, pesky bullets. Unless of course - you're a policeman or in the military. Then - please carry what you need. :peace:

Yeah that would work too but you could never get all of the ones people already have, they won't peacefully turn them in. It's gotton to the point where they're everywhere. It may help a little but if someone wants an assault rifile, they're gonna find a way to obtain it.

if i wanted a field artillery gun i could get one. all the laws on the planet dont stop crime.

the left dreams of a nation of compliance, where there are no gun makers in america, no gun shops, and all gun owners submit and surrender their weapons to The State. All that will get you is more guns made in china, czechoslovakia and north korea.

machine guns, sawed off shotguns and grenades have been so strictly regulated as to be effectively illegal since 1968. but i can get those too, fuck i could make them in my garage shop if i so desired.

weed prohibition hasnt stopped weed, why would anyone assume more gun control will stop people who feel the need for guns from acquiring them or making their own. look down mexico way, and youll see a land where The State has prohibited anyone but their corrupt cops and ramshackle army from owning guns, yet the land is awash in illegal arms, even if you dont count the ones smuggled in by E. If the police and military can carry them, the intent of the 2nd Amendment says i should too.

Btw, "assault" rifles is a funny term imo. ANYthing can be an "assault" weapon, if used for assaulting.

Even an "assault" shaker.

I share both these opinions. I would be more sanguine about gun control, if I had a written guarantee, (say ... an amendment) that stated that police are limited to weapons authorized for civilian possession and carry. This is my challenge to the "no guns" social visionaries: put your money where your mouth is. No double standard for the peacekeepers. cn

The lawmakers will be politically pressured to do something. An all out ban will never happen, but they will be forced to put something out there that they can point at as addressing the "problem". The 2nd ammendment, self-protection, sporting, etc, will not be able to head off the mandate to do something - anything. The lawmakers will not be able to resist the pressure without the risk of losing the next election. Even if everyone looks at the legislation/regulation and says it doesn't make sense, it will still happen.
