Hempy from Dixie cup to Bucket

I was going to dump all the plants from my experiment as I'll be leaving town for x-mass, but I thought I would try a transplant from a Dixie cup to an 11 litre bucket. Below is the link to the finished experiment

https://www.rollitup.org/t/can-the-environment-influence-the-gender.846902/

This gal (M2) was the healthiest of the bunch, so she gets to live on...the others were terminated

The bucket was half full of old perlite/vermiculite, so I used soil for the top half.....got this idea from @WattSaver to use such a deep soil cap.

The final pic of the the gals from the experiment

the hempy transplanted into the bucket, sitting under four 23 watt CFL's

I introduced my gal to the sun, and I think she loves it....look at her bending over to soak up the sunshine

LOL...just goggled it....yes you are correct, they are most certainly Solo cups

It's funny because I've thought of planting in a Dixie cup just to say I did it, but I figured the constant moisture would deteriorate it :/

I won't use paper cups to start seedlings, I just have bad luck with them...the plastic solo cup is so much better

this gal is getting tall, about 3 feet already...using six 23 watt CFL's and sunshine when available

I'm leaving town for 10 days, so the gal is going to have to live on sunlight as I won't leave lights running unattended.

I really don't care about this plant...live or let die...may the ganja gods decide

I'll be starting my winter grow when I return home from Christmas vacations from the winter wonderland

cheers

I left my plant for 12 days unattended, so it only got sunlight, which was very little being the dead of winter.

It grew about 10 inches while I was away.... I'm not sure what to do with this plant, may just leave it as a indoor sunshine grow as it isn't worth the effort of using lights

I have just started germinating my 2015 grow....will start another journal for that grow

This is some strange as I have not watered this plant since Dec 20th and it's still moist...likely because it's only getting sunshine, which there has been very little of.... and it's rather chilly in my home (65 to 70F) and also because I have such a deep soil cap (approx half the bucket) so the soil stays moist

I have a dolly under it, as I have been moving it into a dark room at nights...but I'm really thinking of ditching this plant as it's just not progressing much (I have just started my 2015 winter grow)

I terminated the plant as I was not happy with its progression..... I have started a new grow, and this plant would have just been a pain to keep going under lights,

It only got sunshine since Dec 20th but there is not enough sun in the winter to make it happen.

When I pulled it up, I noticed it had grown very few roots into the perlite, as it seemed happy enough with the soil....so it wasn't really behaving as a hempy

BTW the medium was still moist after 3 weeks without watering but it was not in a warm environment

That plant would grow 14'+ tall outside! just read thru your side by side gender experiment. Great thread buddy! i wish so badly that i could experiment over the winter but i can only do my outdoor run. I really enjoy your threads @ISK keep up the good work. I will be watching your 2015 thread for sure!

That pic of the ones you flowerd last year on the other thread is nice, how was the smoke of this strain? how did you flower em?

thanks BcDigger...in my "Past Grow" link there is a thread on "My Mexican Ditch Weed" which was this strain.

I still have an ounce or so of the popcorn buds from that grow, and they are not so bad...maybe not the highest THC but provide a nice buzz, so I do like them.

I believe this strain is dom sativa, as such was a bit more challenging to grow, but I may try it again some day but will be sure to top them to keep the height manageable.

cheers
