So Ive only grown once and it was a soil grow, and now I'm trying my luck at it again. I was going to do a hydroponic grow but I found out about hempy bucket and it seems foolproof. The last one was a get my feet wet kind of thing and I ended up with about a quarter per plant with 2 plants using a 150 watt hps. I only vegged them to about 8 inches then put em in flowering bcuz space was limited.
This time I've still got the 150 watt hps but ive added a 105 watt cfl and I've got a tent now with more height. Any advice would be really helpful. I'm trying to get and ounce per plant and I'm planning on three plants if that's possible with my setup hence the advice. Anyway here's my setup:
growlab 60 (2x2x6)
105 watt cfl (vegetative)
150 watt hps w/ 105 watt cfl (flowering)
(3) 2.5 gallon hempy buckets (1/4 vermiculite and 3/4 perlite)
general hydroponic nutes for vegging and flowering
I'm planning on buying a 250 watt cooltube and a 4"Inline/fan carbon filter for the smell. I'm vegging with the 105 watt cfl right now but I'm hoping to get the cool tube and fan/filter by the time it comes to flower but for the next couple weeks the cfl should be fine
I'm going to veg till there about 18 inches and hopefully end up around 3 feet. I figure that would be fine with my space considering I've got 60 inches to work with, my buckets take up 12" and my lights with chain would take up 12 inches max so 3 feet should work just fine. I might even scrog but I haven't made up my mind. If I don't scrog I'll definitely top em.
And lastly the strains I've got are 1 barneys farm red dragon and 2 Dutch passion perplex. The perplex is a mainly indica and the red dragon is a indica/mostly sativa.
I don't smoke a whole lot so I figure 3 ounces would last me like 4 or 5 months and I wouldn't have to grow back to back.
I've already germed them, put them in rockwool, and I've got them in the buckets. They just broke the surface yesterday and are about an inch now.
I do have one question though, should I have buried the rockwool cubes deeper down or what? Bcuz I just buried them where the top of the cubes are at the same level as the top of the perlite/vermiculite mix.
There it is in a long ass nutshell ,any feedback would be awesome.
I'll post pics soon...
