You can dim a 1,000 watt bulb down or run the specific watt bulb you want as long as the ballast has the right power setting for it. Basically there are two things to keep in mind. Don't dim a bulb by 50% or more and don't over drive a bulb unless you're using the setting that's meant for giving that little extra to a 1,000 watt bulb.

ok i see what you mean. the tent i have i know i can run 600w and manage the heat the ceiling is only like 9 feet or so i was afraid a 1000w would be too close to the plants. im normally a outside grower so lights are not my thing. i got a tent years ago i only used a few times and thats what i was planning on using again but i think its too small
this was given to me basically to hold me over until i can get myself a 630 CMH

9 feet is a tall tent. What are its other dimensions? If it has enough area you might be able to use a 1,000 in a hood that gives a very wide spread.

ya thats why i was going with the tent it fits right in the corner of my weight room. if i could i would turn it into a grow room but i know thats a war i cant win, well right now

yep it will take some work think by the summer i might be able to start building. as i have my medical shes fine with my tent, but this summer when its legal nation wide there's no reason i cant make a new room in the basement and well that its perfect reason to build a gaming room shes been hinting at that so it would be a win win

You must be up in Canada? If you're just sticking to your plant limits and growing for personal use you really shouldn't even need too much space.

ya thats what im planning my medical lets me have 16 inside 4 out but i like the fun of bigger plants so i think i only need about 4 or 5. it took me 12 hours to do one plant i cant imagine doing that 16- 20 times a season

I usually average around 5 pounds apiece outside with some strains doing around seven. It takes a crew.

ya i had what i thought was a lil plant was taller than me even after she was cut down and picked apart covered my whole ceiling of my drying room
