You do realize that gophers are tunnelers right? Not sure how deep you planted that border fence... but chances are the critters will tunnel right under it.

I've heard some people use electronic means to keep the bastards at bay... I don't have any personal experience using them.... but here's a link to the type of thing I'm talking about. The Sonic Molechaser: Electronic Pest Control Pro
hi Florida. welcome. yes, I no. we are holding our breath. so far no other plant looks stressed like that one did. send positive thoughts and energy our way.

Depending on your moral persuasion on the matter, gopher poison 'peanuts' are available at most garden stores. Just drop a couple in the nearest hole and good bye gophers!

I couldn't help making up funny stories involving the gofer and us. the pictures in my head were hilarius. i was having a ball. i was thinking of "Over the hedge" as a good one to watch as well. sounds like a good excuse to have a party. :joint::bigjoint::weed:

I went with the sonic device because I don't like the idea of dropping poison in the soil near where the plants are growing. I grow my MJ indoors... but I have veggies outside in soil and I never use anything in the soil near the plants that could get into the roots and then plant itself.

Just my 2 cents :D

You can get hot sauce...Franks redhot...mix with water and spray leaves....bottoms only at 1st, the burning mouth will repel them....if needed spray whole leaf...I always start on bottoms 1st.....it just stopped my cat the other day..good luck

*if no good.. poison...just watch out for pets..

this little guy ate the roots from underneath. built a border 2 1/2 deep. so far, so good. just adopted a new puppy, now that the garden is protected from being romped through. Added security and a new baby. Life is good. Pics of the pup coming soon. :joint:

If you know anyone with a terrier you can leave in your back yard for a day or two, your 'varmit problem' will likely get eaten. Westies are great gopher slayers, but pretty much any small terrier with a strong prey drive will do. As a bonus, the dog will have a ball!

great minds think alike. I have a chainlink so it makes keeping them in a little tricky and the five doggies next door think they live here anyway, so I layed everything I could find along the bottom of the fence and went next door and got me a cute little brown and white mutt who is very attached to her sister and daddy next door so they keep going back and forth pretty much at will. work in progress. haven't got a name yet. hmmmm. any suggestions anyone? :joint:

found it thanks. they don't have it in the hardware stores up here, but I am going to order it online, along with the insect stuff (got ants!). Thanks for the tip:peace:
