Hello guys!

I"m glad to start this topic, taking a step closer to start growning my own weed.

Since I saw this video I decided that I NEED TO grow my own weed, I need to fell what is like to smoke a good and pure strain:

Give a look in the weed we have here, buds are totally unaffordable for me.

I'm making a project in skecthup, but I still have some doubts, I'll post some pics and try to explain my plan and needs.

This is my lovely home.

visao sala.jpg
As you can see, my grow will be close of the front door. (I can't put on the other side of the room because of the sun, tropical country 25º+ everyday)
I live with my mother, she is ok about me growing weed, no problem at all, but sometimes she receives some friends so the noise is my problem number 1.
As I live in an apartment with thin walls the grow needs to run quietly as possible .

The Grow

This is the project of the grow.
MDF 15mm and 9mm for the doors and below shelf

grow.jpg

Below is the veg / mother area.
height: 70 cm / 2.2 foot / 27.55 inches
widht: 117cm / 3.8 foot / 46 inches
depth: 60 cm / 1.96 foot / 23.62 inches

I will use 4 x T5 fluorescent light

The flowering área:

height: 150 cm / 4.9foot / 59inches
widht: 117cm / 3.8 foot / 46 inches
depth: 60 cm / 1.96 foot / 23.62 inches

On the left of the flowering área I'll put thoose fans to intake some air.
cooler e trinco.png
Akasa 120mm fans

Is this enough air?

My biggest difficult till now in this project is to define wich light source use for my flowering area.

My first tought was use 250whps, I even bought a glass to make a handmade cooltube, but I'm afraid of all the noise with exausts I'll have to mantein my grow in the right temperature.

Leds is expansive as fuck here in Brazil, but I can afford till $250 +- in ebay.

So guys, this is my project. If i manage to finish it I'll share the skecthup project, cuts plan and make a full detailed guide about the building.

I'll buy the woods in the next weekend to start the project.

Help me if you know how!

Thanks and LEGALIZE IT BRAZIL!

Hands down
That is the ugliest bud I've ever seen posted on riu.
You could grow nicer bud with an led flashlight.

That being said it should be fairly easy to beat the weed currently available to you.

Because of heat and space limits I'd say your best bet would be a passively cooled led. Either pcb boards or cobs.
Most likely you could then get away with a smaller quieter exhaust.
Definitely will need a carbon filter

Good luck

@torontoke This is sad, isn't bro? And this isn't even the wrost available in the streets, I have already found spider webs, spider legs, cockroach legs and even a piece of glass inside those bricked weed.

I will make a carbon filter, A lot of DIY guides about them.
I don't know if I can handle the making of a DIY Cob led, I'l try to find a guide detailed enough for me to understand.

Made some updates.
Scrog net at 30cm above the vases. Is this distance ok?
nutriplan vases of 7L (I still can't post any links here)
Is the positioning and amount of vases correct for a scrog?

I'll post that on on the led board, but why not here too right?
detalhe led.jpg check the detail in the cob exaust
4 of thoose mounted like you can see on pics will be enough for my area?
Still didn't decided wich cob to use.

I still don't know how I'll build the exaust, I'll think about it when I wake up, going to take a nap now.
Planning my first grow in sketchup is quite addictive, the sun is already rising and i'm still here.

If budget is an issue you can get e27 style grow bulbs thats a 24w a peice for like 8 bucks, pick up like 10 of those and ypur rocking, i use them as supplementary lighting but they would be great for growing on a budget

Some updates.
Next saturday I'll buy the mdf to build the closet.
I'm still not even close to finish the project plans, but the closet wont change I guess.
You could get away with doing a DIY carbon filter with PC fans and maybe do a stealth CFL if you are concerned about security, people finding out etc. mixing leds and cfls, ive never done it, but im sure it cant be terrible.

I'll search about DIY Carbons, I can put itover my wardrobe, that will be right on the left of the grow.
When I arrive home I'll put it on sketchup to give a better idea.

Hello again guys.
Can you imagine Goofy designing and planning a grow? I'm not so different :bigjoint:

I know that I should be studying about DIY Carbons, leds and stuffs, but, I need to be honest, after the class I smoked one fucking big joint, dumb as fuck, impossible to plan anything, so I just keep "playing" with sketchup (I could even find myself in there) and after few hours...
I proudly show you guys my room.:clap::clap::clap::clap: (O god how I wish that planning my grow was easy as learn to use sketchup)

Wellcome to my room guys!a.png

Green Arrow: The only space behind the grow, is from that space that i'm planning to put 5 fans 120mm Asaka Viper 83.63 CFM each sucking air inside the grow.
Is that enough intake air?
Red Arrow: Is this place that i'm planning to use for the carbon filter, but I need it do be noiseless, my wife is already complaining because of all the costs that I'll have :cuss:(she)
I will research about it, but if anyone know any solution, please be welcome.
Purple Arrow: This space is 8 cm wide and have a nice airflow (I guess at least), maybe it can be usefull for the planing.

If anyone knows a good silent solution for the air flow for this grow don't be shy.

Peace :peace:

Thats a nice looking plan, but its gonna be hard to get zero sound, if you use PC fans, youll get tha least amount of noise that i know of, a DIY carbon filter wont make any noise, besides tha noise coming from your exhaust fan.

And 5 intake fans is I mean, good, but you probably wont need that many for a stealth grow

If you can layer the areas where you have fans then you install some acoustic foam or something like. Its very hard to stop sound but mass is the best option. Problem is sound will escape where it can, the extraction and intake points.
So multi layers, as in gaps between layers of MDF, but this means much bigger cab or loss of space inside the cab.
I would concentrate more on extraction fans than intake. If you use all those fans for one big carbon scrubber then the carbon will muffle the noise to a degree. Then you can leave the intake passive which is silent! lol.
All those fans as intake are just going to make more noise and be strained if you only have one extraction fan with carbon scrubber. The scrubber will reduce the airflow on the extraction so you will end up with positive pressure which will force smelly air out of any hole it can. Defeating the purpose of stealth.
Have you checked out the micro stealth section on here? There are some good threads, maybe you could get some inspiration.

Make sure you go inline for your exhaust fan. I've got two 100cfm axials pulling from my 11cf cab and they just don't have the strength to move the heat out through the carbon filter. Bumping up to a 200cfm inline should do it. Just try to make sure you have more cfms going out through the filter than are coming in through the intake, otherwise you'll be pumping dank stench out through all the little cracks and pinholes in the cab.

Multi layer won't be an option becuse of space I guess.
I didn't knew about this section,I"ll check it now, for sure ideas will just poup up.
I'll focus on learn about air flow and pressures.
Really thanks for your help.

I'll search videos about exhauts, I need to find one that is cheap, low wattage and silent (impossible mission maybe) kkkkk

I'll try to plan the airflow better, a lot to know about.

I recently picked up one of these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191794549735?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
100cfm, very quiet compared to any other 4" fan I have heard. But not surprising, its only 13w!
It was cheap too, I bought it just to see how quiet it was because at that price I thought why not.
When I rebuild my drying cupboard I will use it in there with a filter into my veg tent.
It may be of use in your situation, certainly better than PC fans.
Silent it wont be but quiet it is, a bigger filter and some ducting or pvc pipe covered with something to muffle the airflow will cut noise down.
I see you have a computer in there. You can always blame the noise on the PC, or a nearby fridge or Air Con.

Seens to be good, low wattage, I'll have to search for one like this here in Brazil, at least now I have a model to compare, thanks dude!

you got this buddy, we believe in you. oddly, your room looks a lot like your sketch program room ahaha
A lot to learn, but people arround here are really helpful, Oddly isn't? kkkkk I just tried to do the most accurate (Is this sentence correct? kkk)
